That is a beautiful specimen Jason! Every slab is awesome and unique, I love it!
If Teepee was any closer, I'm sure you would be there every day!

Definitely some cool patterns. Have a good hunt if you go tomorrow Thanks Stephan! I did end up going today. I dug about four gallons the hard way...then surface hounded another two gallons or so. I'm pretty sure there are some nice ones in the haul, but no great ones. That is a beautiful specimen Jason! Every slab is awesome and unique, I love it! If Teepee was any closer, I'm sure you would be there every day! Thanks Jesse! In theory I would...in reality, I get my tail handed to me every time I go - So I always need a day or so to heal. I'm exhausted and busted up tonight! LOL Some of the busted up was self inflicted. Gloves are definitely needed...but weren't used today. LOL

That's just a minor flesh wound A sprinkle of Peppermint Oil Antimicrobial Emu oil is my favorite. Also antimicrobial and promotes fast healing. It really works!

It looks worse than it really is. It bled like a stuck pig though! LOL Damn, that looks painful. Joints are always a bad place to get an owie. I've heard...I'm not saying I know....but I've heard that joints also can make an owie go away! LOL That's just a minor flesh wound A sprinkle of Peppermint Oil Antimicrobial Right! I'm a Bag Balm type of guy...been the go-to ever since I was a kid. That's all we ever had in the house...a tin of Bag Balm and a case of Band-Aids! LOL That's just a minor flesh wound A sprinkle of Peppermint Oil Antimicrobial Emu oil is my favorite. Also antimicrobial and promotes fast healing. It really works! I've never tried Emu oil...in fact I've never heard of it. I'm not sure if it's a mental thing, but Bag Balm has always seemed like a miracle cure. Emu oil is my favorite. Also antimicrobial and promotes fast healing. It really works! How about the old-school way? Iodine or styptic pencil. Anyone remember those sadistic “cures”? I swear on everything that's holy, I started reciting that exact scene when it happened! LOL I immediately stopped as I was working precariously close to the overhang...and didn't want the scene to continue to the end! LOL I do remember Iodine. I remember I was over at someone else's house one time and needed some first aid...they weren't believers in Bag Balm...they believed in Iodine. I wasn't a fan! LOL

LOL Styptic pencil is even worse than iodine, but stops the bleeding like nobody’s business. I’m sure both of those were used on the theory that pain would “purify” the wound. I’ve never heard of bag balm. I’ll have to look for it. If I was a betting man, my money would have been on your wife doing you up with myrrh. For myself, olive, avocado oil or nut oils work well. The vitamin E helps repair damaged tissue and keep it from drying out. So it seems like many minimally processed plant-based oils will do the trick (keep those micronutrients). Or bird-based. I’ve heard people swear by chicken or duck fat. In any case, they all sound more pleasant than iodine.

LOL I figure anything that's been around since 1899 has to be pretty decent! LOL I believe it originally was for chapped udders on cows. Here's the Top 10 uses listed for Bag Balm: 10. Tattoo care 9. Burns and sunburn 8. Scars and wounds 7. Chapped lips 6. Cuts and scrapes 5. Livestock 4. Pets 3. Persistent dry skin 2. Childrens' skin 1. Dry and cracked hands and feet As a kid, it was always used on us for cuts and sunburns...

Come to think of it, butter works too. My hands were always in great shape near Christmas, whenever I baked a lot of German Christmas cookies, which contain more butter and almond meal than anything else, and require hand-kneading.

While I suppose that above statement could be taken a couple different ways...I better just say for the general population reading this - my wife grew up on a dairy farm... LOL

Another great group, Jason! That third picture is something else though. It looks like there was an interior explosion.

Another great group, Jason! That third picture is something else though. It looks like there was an interior explosion. Thanks Brian! I think one of the most fascinating things to me is ALL of these Teepee Canyon Agates in this group were found within about 30-40 feet of each other. The variations in pattern and fortifications that can obviously happen within such a small geographic area (miniscule really) is almost mind blowing to me.

Absolutely gorgeous! I need to change how I look for teepees, I usually don't pick up the stuff that doesn't show anything. You're either really good or really lucky! Thanks for the pics, these are beautiful! 🙂

Thanks for the pics, these are beautiful! 🙂 My wife says you're just licking the rock wrong! LOL I'd have to say I've been very lucky with what has been on the interior of some of these. I think I'm starting to recognize the nodules a lot better. - the ones people leave behind (ahem! LOL)...even when there slightly obscured by some of the bedrock still on them. Again, I think I kind of hit a honey hole where I can see the nodules in the bedrock (I think that's the right word) are 6 plus inches in length. In fact, one nodule I saw in the rock was over 12". It was in the side of that crevice I showed pictures of earlier in the thread...so not reachable. However, that tells me there are more that are similar in size and pattern that are right in that area...they just have to get mined out...

I'm neither confirming nor denying your wife's statement... 😁 You are really doing well, I think putting in the time is paying off! Keep up the good work, sir.
