Hi all cracked this salt river verde rock & brought a chunk home to polish I saw the green vein Thought maybe it silicified -like jasper Butte it morhz of a highly pressurized green silt substance hacked off a slab off with the workforce & I do mean hacked got a piece slabbed-- I could work but it snapped in the grind forgot that I can fix broken hearts & epoxy the pieces back 2gather Instead tried to reshape the broken piece that turned out to be to difficult might be able to find the massive remaining rock I left behind - try agrin Did get a piece cut off the horneblende w/ rose quartz inclusions & its working up fine-- on the grind That is a rich color of green, nice find Ed!

right on Chad !
it is a deep verde although in the photo the rock is wet I don’t think the camera lying
As mentioned I think the material is some sort of highly pressurized silt/clay
So it soaks up moisture It doesn’t seam to silica based much – like a jasper
will polish a piece eventfully bring out some verde river

Yohs! A solar boat! I found the rock in the Salt Not sure if it rates as an agate? Butte yellow is my favorite color. Even though I curse it often Plus it rare color in the Verde River The rock soft ball size and very weathered I dropped and it broke into pieces Not wanting to hack saw a slab That what causes micro fractures… Jus started grinding a piece into some sort of shape The double angle was a fortunate necessity Doming the other side ? welll,,, Wasn’t sure that was best thing to do Then I saw the solar boat I’m thinking of doing this design w/ some lazulilapis Then I’ll have
blue canoe Tough stone to photo all the angles Plus I need some low angle sunlight Gonna take a little ride of the Solar Boat All my rock friends are on board & even morhz I hope...

A couple Salt projects found & finished got fascinated with cinnamon shade design in this rock Most of it ground away- butte it subtly there suppose the rock is just some mottled meta morphed minerals The rock it sitting atop is the Solar boat material found in the Salt There is a lot of variety in that Salt/ Most of it is basalt felsic blah Butte keep my eyes open & a gem appears Ideas on what that yellow mineral be ... ?

Thank Tela!!! I really needed that boost That solar boat is a fortunate design that just happened from the rough The angling was the shortest route to maintain any type of shape Was really please with how it shaped up Maybe I’ll do one rock;n style ? think i found a new way I want to copy the shape on the pinky butte I’m having a rough time figuring out I zipped a groove on the pinky To pull a wire up the side All experimental Anyway I needed the boost I’m really bothered Geez things have been going lousy Just little things all the time Constant today I got questioned by Salt River Tribal Police They down come on me pretty hard Geez I been going to that river for decades Never had trouble w/ being called a trespasser Just been long chain of effoyu handed out to mohs feels that way at least

Oh man, sorry about that Ed. I know too well how all those things add up to spell a crappy day or two. My brother is going through that now and he's just getting over covid, too.
ETA- Looking forward to seeing your new ideas come to fruition.

You heard of follow the yellow brick road I was trying to follow the milky white quartz pod trail Stumbled upon this trail in Phx Mountains Preserves That quartz pod was my goal Its steep and deep up & up mohs rolled Started getting myself in trouble So I scooted back down Literally ! The coming down is the hardest part saw other hikers up there-- so it way doable was the first time I was on that trail So further exploration Next time i'll succeed Did encounter another newbie on the trail Gave them the hohokam rap Always enjoyable Its the only time you talk to strangers So coming down I crowed out this black numb quartz infused w/ bladed schist It way coool ! I’d like to know what intruded what? Did a violent schist uplift crash into a shallow quartz pod ? Or visa versa ? maybe that not even right way to look at it ? Butte the bladed intertwine, rocks Thanks for previous likes & looking Ed
