Interesting… I never considered southern Nevada to be NW when northern CA, which is both more North and more West, isn’t. Someone needs a geography lesson. LOL.

Oh wow @jadedvision that's one amazing cab & a hell of a start! I will admit I never would have thought of bat cave for this contest. When I heard NE jasper my mind right away went to landscape type jaspers. Thank you as well Rockoonz for the list, there is several I'd forgotten 🤣

My brain couldn't remember all of the ones Rockoonz did. I'll add Bruneau to his list.

My entry for this months challenge might have been a hasty decision, but I’m trying to make more cabs so what the heck. 40mm x 50mm Ochoco rim jasper. I left the top surface a natural stone face, and used the edge of my soft wheels to make notches. My goal was for the face to look like an arrowhead, there might have been a better tool choice to get that effect, but I think I did okay. Way to ruin my motivation to submit a cab this month. I'm fairly certain that the best cabber in the world could not turn any of my NW jasper into anything half as nice as that. Will I still try? Yes. Did you set the bar very high? Yep.

Contest Theme: As chosen by our July contest winner brotherbill, Northwest Jasper Contestants are asked to follow the entry requirements and create a cabochon made from natural rock material identifiable as jasper that originated in any of the US states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana.
He would be the one who could tell you if the BC OJ is ok for the contest.

Beautiful cab, MsAli! Love the octopus.
It would be cool to put that in a pendant made of tentacles.
