MsAli that was from the box I sent, the rest of that rock is part of my rose garden. Honestly I’ve never made it to stony creek, but similar jasper can be found there no doubt. This stuff came from a place us locals call murder mountain, not somewhere I’d recommend going for any reason ever! Thank you! It took me forever to remember who I got that box from Murder mountain is very fitting for the theme!

Oh and my Halloween story I can't remember how old I was, maybe around 8 when I was asked by my dad to go retrieve a saw from the shed. It was pitch black out and I wasn't happy to go because we had just got back from trick or treating and I wanted to go through the candy. Well I trudged down to the shed with a flashlight and opened the door and then immediately turned and ran back to the house screaming Dad thought it would be funny to hang a doe in there without telling me Great looking cab Ali! And I love the Halloween Horror Story! I can just picture you seeing that "unknown" carcass on a dark and spooky Halloween night! I really am sorry...but I think I'd like your dad! LOL (I hope you're able to laugh about it at this point... ) Oh, I can laugh about it now but it wasn't funny at the time. Atleast for me. Dad was laughing his hind end off

Well I started my cab this evening, but... Super glue gel sucks. My cab popped off the dop stick. It has been glued for over a week so it was definitely dry. I glued it back on and will resume tomorrow.

This must be the week for crap flying off the dops...and all super glue related! You, me, Tela, Stephan...and whoever else hasn't mentioned it.

COVID-related supply chain issues. Probably using less CA or different solvents, or maybe the QA person quit. Not entirely kidding. I bought one tube that was completely dried out. And this morning I heard P&G is reformulating products, because the raw materials are stuck on waiting ships.

Full moon for sure!
You know, it wouldn't surprise me if the glue is sub-par, covid or whatever the reason. I've never been happy with that gel.
But seriously, the cab only fell off the stick into the drip pan so no damage. I'll git r done hopefully this evening 👍

Teaser (bench-smack preform only): Cheetah agate pre-form by Stephan T., on Flickr cheetah agate from holajonathan . I got dumped on before I could finish. Maybe next weekend we won't have whatever name they settle on for the deluge. So far we have the following candidates: "atmospheric river," which sounds kind of pretty and "bomb cyclone," which sounds apocalyptic.

You complain when there's no rain, and complain when there's too much rain.

No shop, so sideways rain made it hard to see* and hold the cab. And the GFCI trips easily (which is a good thing -- you don't want those being slow). As for the naming weather event-naming, blame bored meteorologists. After six months of sunshine, they finally had something interesting, other than a heat wave, to report. So, true to form, we switched seamlessly from fire season to mudslide season. Unlike in 2019, it's not flaming mudslides. *ETA: I'm still waiting on the windshield wipers for my glasses. The good news with that much water is that it's easy to keep both the stone and the wheel wet, even with a weenie geyser pump.

You Californians are hard to please. You complain when there's no rain, and complain when there's too much rain. I only complain about too much rain in a short period of time because my cactus will suck up too much of it, get too heavy, and fall over. Not worried for myself, I'm not sugar or sh*t, I'm not going to melt, lol. Another thing I worry about is my 30 plus foot tall, off-balance avocado tree, which needs a professional trimming. No way I can get my old, fat ass up there and prune it up myself. I don't have a death wish! There is also a gusty wind warning in effect until early tomorrow morning. The roots of the tree are a bit shallow. When the ground gets mushy, and the wind blows, you can see the surface roots lifting on the upwind side of the tree. An easy matter for the wind to blow the entire tree over. So I complain... No rain here yet, but it's definitely thinking about it!

I recall extremely cold temps in January 2014 (-20 F in SE Michigan) and being quite sick of hearing the phrase "polar vortex." The local news stations came up with scary info-graphics that looked something like a frozen hurricane with the words "POLAR VORTEX" filling the screen. A few years later, "polar vortex" had apparently lost its scare factor and they started adding adjectives... like "super polar vortex." I went further and enjoyed talking about the "apocalyptic, eye-ball freezing, mega-huge polar vortex of death, destruction, and despair..." Or something like that.

Jean.....rain, not drizzle, got here an hour ago..........you should be catching some by now since wind is dictating....don't expect much though, just lower temps than what we normally get this time of year.......smile face guy will stat complaining when he's freezing his ass off while we are enjoying 70's......lol

I’ve often thought that one of the problems with using such epic language to describe things is that you can quickly paint yourself into a verbal corner. Guess they haven’t learned that yet. Hope they have a thesaurus handy. For the record, I biked in to work on Friday (as I always do), when it was coming down at a pretty good clip. My wife thinks I'm crazy. She's probably not wrong, but I enjoy the elements -- my best jobs have always had a component of outdoors, year-round.
