It is SO loud. The instructions are worthless. I am getting rid of it after using it for less than 24 hours

I have four six pound tumblers a lot- o and a thumler 10 all going in my shop. Very relaxing, not good for talking on the phone. It’s the price you pay for shiny rocks.

try buying an ice chest to put it in , but dont close the lid tightly on it as it will overheat . I built a wooden box and insulated it to keep the noises down

I have a vibe which works well. It's just too much effort to keep the slurry just right. It's parked. I plan to use it from time to time.

If it's loud, it works. The raytechs use hard plastic bowls. I have to put earmuffs on when using mine

Somebody is done with their vibe ! Better to have an outside or distant location to run noisy tumblers. Sorry it didn't work out.

In the trash-
That's too bad, I was initially just kidding - but I would have paid for the shipping. I've been wanting to buy one to use along with my rotary. Definitely in an outside location ( and NOT under your bedroom window :-)!

I gave you a thumbs up for your decisive action. Darn, sorry you did not get something you liked.

I am sorry It was yours and you had every right to to trash it. BUT Please do not put lapidary equipment (or rocks for that matter) in the trash. Some of us work very hard to save old equipment not for profit but to pass it along to new people in the hobby. Any rock club would send someone over to pick equipment up running or not. Teachers would love to have something like that for their students. Our club cleans up entry level tumblers all the time and gives them to younger members with a few packages of grit and a box of rocks. We just tell them to give it back to us if it does not work out or they end up getting a better machine. Off my soapbox now.

rewdownunder Sorry. I had no idea. But I would never pass this on to anyone without experience. It's too scary, complicated and annoying

I have two tumble vibe 5. Love them for the mirror polish they provide.

The more they over-think the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the toilet.

I'm fortunate in that my Tumbling Zone is actually the kitchenette in the space we built for my step-daughter and grand-children to live in after her marriage imploded. It's in the lower level of our house and we completely sound-proofed the ceiling before we dry-walled. (Which is good, because I've been playing with a VERY noisy one-pounder.) Only when the house is very quiet can you hear anything at all, and it's almost inaudible even then. The only time I've had to turn things off was when we needed one of the rooms for overflow house-guests to stay in overnight.
My only real problem is that because the tumblers are on the kitchenette counter-top, the vibration from them has caused the caulking to separate from the wall!
