This one will also be in the running for the oldest survivors. A "Victor" 10" trim saw. I think Victor lapidary was bought by ?, then eventually by HP. Someone gave me a rundown on the corporate info years ago, but I can't seem to find it. If anyone has info we'd sure like to hear it.
That is cool, never seen a Victor saw. I bought a victor sphere machine from John jsgems many years ago. I have an old tub like your saws, apparently it must be a victor.

Yeah, that's a Victor. Screws front and back to hold the table in place, and I can't think of any others with angled sides on the tub. Cool. I might need that someday if I ever kill the one we have.

Looks like Star had their hand in that design. Arbor mounted on top of the table instead of underneath.

I like the old pixie, never seen one like it. That was my first DP cutting machine, purchased around '76 or so. It was revolutionary for its time.

quartzilla, Yes, the wax is old -- especially the price! But I still use some of the same vintage as well as the pickle pot pictured. The filing wax doesn't age out as far as I can tell unless it's subjected to extreme temperatures. Old wax carves just as nicely as new. Ferris wax is one of the very best. It's still sold but in different packaging and at a higher price, of course.

gemfeller good to know I got a deal on it then. Another purchase from my local storage wars guy. I picked these up, 5 cds, and a couple glass dishes to display some polished rocks in for 20 bucks😁

This is not specifically lapidary, but probably spends over half it's operating hours cutting steel for lapidary tool projects. Craftsman power hacksaw, this model is in catalogs as far back as 1925, definitely pre WWII. This takes a 12" blade, the estate I got it from had 4 and this was the smallest. It will be cutting angle today for welding together some support for new garden faucets and drip irrigation controllers.

I always thought it would be fun to get a power hacksaw and convert it to a mini drag saw.

Good for you! Frantom ?" converted to gravity feed. Lortone(?) drop saw. Spool polisher. Cab Mate. All good.
Only thing I don't recognize is the "MK" unit. What do you have there?

Looks like they left the feed bits on the FranTom, I would get that going again. The MK looks like a tile cutter. AzRockGeek I would love to have a 3rd Cabmate, especially that one. Great score.

A few more pics,. A MK 10" tile saw. There was also quite a few replacement spools for the polishers. Will unload the Frantom 18 tonight.

Right on Rockbrain! I was looking at a ad for those in a old Lapidary Journal and was tripping out on the design. Amazing someone came up with that particular design for a rock tumbler. I wonder how it works?

quartzilla unfortunately I don't know that I have any of the rocks around but I remember shiny rocks when we were using this. This was our family rock tumbler and although I was too young to actually "operate" it I was involved. I remember using ground walnut shells along with some of the grit. I could probably fire it up, but it's missing one of the bearings. (a rubber sleeve that's held in place by the conduit clamp" Also it looks like the lid is gone. From the sheet it looks like I can send for a lid for 50 cents but I think that bearing liner is overpriced at 40 cents!
