I was cleaning the shed and ran across a few things you don't see much anymore, what is your rock shed hiding? A NOS congo 12" blade Can of diamond saw lube. A few cans of unopened lortone tumbling supplies.

Here's one to go with your Diamond Lube shown above.
Note that there are no zip codes on the Bruce products or the Congo blade.
EDIT - Have a few old saw blades here, too. Mostly 6". I think one is "new", or at least close to it.

Vertical lap with four laps (two on other side) that we never got an ID on. Didn't match old Diamond Devil or other models we could find.
Has a sticker on it that says "Gates Polyflex Belts Used On This Machine" but could find no other ID plates or labels.

Wood spool polisher. They still make these, but with phenolic spools.

hummingbirdstones I use a spool polisher for Star Rubies and Sapphires. It does a superior job to my titan. Rough on Titan grind to 600 then spool polish the rest of the way.

Wood spool polisher. They still make these, but with phenolic spools. If I ever get back into cutting star garnets I may borrow that little machine. It's perfect for preventing heat spalling while sanding and polishing garnets. Great for opals too.

Diamond paste worked into the surface with a cab will do for charging it.

How do you charge the spool with the diamond and how long does it last? I always heard good things about these polishers. I just use a little dab on the stone and use it to push it into the maple. Originally I had a phenolic unit but I bought a collection that had an old one with maple and I liked it better. I sold the phenolic unit when I had a chance. I use mineral oil as extender. I use Mountain Mist diamond which is suppose to have higher diamond content paste. Works well but slow.

I have two of those wood spool polishers I'd rather someone else had, likely never get to use them because of wife's health problems; I'm the only caregiver.

Hope this thread brings out a bunch of fun things, thought I'd put mine up while it's raining. My wife found this at an estate sale, $7.50, seller said won't run because of "cold belt", motor runs fine with a bit of oil but the belt shredded. 20/20 hindsight says I should have given the barrel dimensions: 6 3/4" hex, 4" deep, translates to .72 gallon or ~8-8 1/2 pound capacity. A little hard to read, price is/was $2.79

This is a cool thread! I've been meaning to put some of my old stuff in but just got around to it. A 1970's fully functioning Diamond Pacific Pixie: IMG_20220313_102118219 by Perkins17, on Flickr An old Raytech 15 inch vibrating flat lap I need to get some parts for: IMG_20220416_144254486 by Perkins17, on Flickr A custom technologies industries MT-4 (now Diamond Pacific): IMG_20220416_144338085 by Perkins17, on Flickr These are all "working class" machines in my shop, and work as well as the day they were bought. Thanks for looking!

Here's my old HP trim saw, not sure exactly how old but it's in the 1947 HP catalog on the Cigarbox rock site.

This one will also be in the running for the oldest survivors. A "Victor" 10" trim saw. I think Victor lapidary was bought by ?, then eventually by HP. Someone gave me a rundown on the corporate info years ago, but I can't seem to find it. If anyone has info we'd sure like to hear it.
This old critter is all cast aluminum, with press-fit bronze arbor bushings, and an adjustable-height blade guard.
