very nice
Do the 'feathers' across the top and bottom do anything or just part of the show?

Sands photo really captures the ring. The feathers are the two spirits. One good, one bad. It is a Native motif where there are two wolves. One good one bad. The wolves symbolized by the two feathers, which one do you feed? The good one, or the bad one. The feathers go to the right. The borealis effect makes toilets and sinks swirl to the left. The turquoise is vintage Native American, the red is genuine Red Coral, no longer available. I cut the turquoise, cut the coral, fabricated the ring, made the wire, then twisted it, the bezels were made from pure silver, rolled to thickness. It is one of my signed signatute pieces. It took me almost six months part time to complete. Sands took a decent photo of it.

The ring cost the owner 350$. It took me roughly six months to make, including getting the turquoise, cutting the coral, and forging the parts. The wolves are a classic. I made a pendant with two wolves attacking each other with turquoise, malachite, lapis, coral. Both wolves look the same. They are facing each other with fangs bared. One is good, one is bad, which one do you feed? Sometimes you must feed the bad one to pass by, sometimes you must feed the good one to have a companion on your journey, sometimes you must feed both to have a companion for your companion. You must always watch. Sometimes good can slide into bad, and sometimes bad can be good. The lesson, sometimes good can be bad, bad can be good. It looks the same, most times acts the same, the outcome however is what matters. If we did not have bad, we would not know good. If we had only good, we would turn bad. So if it looks the same, acts the same, is it really good or bad? Is it not all the same in one? Is not good, one day bad? Is not bad one day good? Are we locked into a mold? It is the legend from the GRANDFATHER.

Doc -
The ring is wonderful & adding the legend from the Grandfather really adds to its specialness!
Now if people could only see the wisdom in them there words. It's our judgment that tries to make something either good or bad. In reality, everything is just being what it is.....

Excellant work Doc. For a piece of jewelry of that quaility the person got a bargain.

WOW DOC- What a great ring- so which wolf did you feed for that- I'mn guessing (esp on what you charged) that the good wolf was fed- Looks like a labor of love!

Absolutely beautiful Doc! Kudos just for the shear artistry of it yet even more so in that it can be worn and displayed. That is amazing. -Banjo

Krazy, there isn't anything I do that you, or anyone else here couldn't do. One thing Sands will probably agree with also, you have to get out of the box. What we do is art. There are really no books, tapes, CD's that will make us winners. What makes us winners is WANT power. There are only an handful of jewelers that do silver repairs, Why? It can be done. All a person has to do is WANT, and follow through with what is neccessary. All anyone of us has to do is pick up the tools, materials, and do the first thing first and follow through. Cannot solder? Why not? Get some copper wire and practice melting it on a piece of 2 X 4. Get some borax soap and observe how the metal reacts under heat. Etc., etc., etc. That is how I taught myself. I use screws for dops, small screwdrivers, and I use the head of a pin for really small work. We have everything we need real close. You all can do it.
