jasoninsd, I can empathize with your wife! I love DH dearly, but when we made plans to spend the day out together to pick up our granddaughter from the airport, I gently insisted he needed a hair cut first. He was getting really shaggy. Combine that with his full beard and he was about like you are. I don't mind his beard, though. We tease him a lot. His hair was much longer than this today before he chopped it off. That's my man.... (he gave me permission to post this)

Hey jasoninsd , great write up about your first show experiences and success. A huge Congratulations to you my friend! I got quite a chuckle out of that bucket of "free" samples, it was definitely Leverite for sure! I think a simple booth is far better than those loaded to the hilt with way too many products to browse through, which is what most customers do, browse only. It's quality over quantity anytime in my book. I also also really like your display enhancements, which allows people to better visualize how a piece will look when worn. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us as we look forward to many future successes to come. Mark

Did the beard make Jasoninsd look like the real artesian that he is? Wait...artesian...or artisan? Probably closer to artesian! Well, it all depends . . . On what?? LOL jasoninsd , I can empathize with your wife! When Jonathan came out to visit he didn't shave or get a haircut...I figured we would have scared most of the crowd away when we were out rockhounding so we could have the place to ourselves! LOL I can't believe you made him cut it...his hair was just getting good! Hey jasoninsd , great write up about your first show experiences and success. A huge Congratulations to you my friend! Yeah...I didn't care if it made anyone else laugh...thankfully it did though...but the "Free Samples" gave me several chuckles over the weekend! LOL The three "headless horsemen" were gifts from a couple family members quite a while ago. I had to tape them down with tape on the bottom so the wind wouldn't knock them over...learned that lesson the first day! LOL Great looking setup to go with your stellar workmanship Jason, I'm glad you found your niche (and even more glad you share it with us) in the rockworld Thanks Chad!! Hopefully within the next week I'll have everything listed on Etsy...I so hopefully...but it's gotta get done! LOL

I was REALLY hoping you'd come out of the woodwork - I'm so happy you did! Since this is your first post, I can officially say "Welcome to the Forum!" It really was a pleasure meeting you two! I really look forward to seeing more of your wraps as I loved the one you showed me! If you guys need anything that I can help with, just let me know...other than how to post pictures on the forum! LOL - I use Tapatalk, and have no clue how to use the Cloudinary option that others use.

jasoninsd great report and happy for you. Please tell us how you accepted payment from your customers and which media was mostly used. Thanks Randy! Great question! I accepted cash and PayPal if it was sent Friends and Family. I didn't want someone to pay with PayPal, then dispute the charge after they'd walked off. There were a couple payments with PayPal on Friday. Saturday was a cash day. I accepted two checks from one individual. Normally I wouldn't dream of doing that, but I verified with the swap coordinator that the individual paying with a check was definitely a trustworthy person. (Again not recommended...but I trust Tom who takes checks from this guy as well...). I had one person ask if I took Venmo, but he also did PayPal, so I didn't lose anything there. One person asked if I took credit cards, and I don't, so I know I lost one sale there.

Next time I'd prepare ahead of time a short step-by-step instructions how to do that and give it to them, so you can possibly get the sale. Check out this article on how to do that: www.fool.com/the-ascent/credit-cards/paypal-use-credit-card/

Can't win 'em all I suppose. Thanks for posting that link! As a side note...two nights ago, I sold another Velvet Obsidian wrap, and then last night I sold my second most expensive Fairburn wrap...both "residual" sales from the rock show.

That's awesome, Jason! We use Square for CC sales at the shows we do, as do most other folks around here on the show circuit. Very easy to use the app with your cell phone and a great way to keep track of sales for tax purposes (ugh).

She gave it to me as she wasn't going to use it anymore. I just didn't set it up. That's another thing I've got to get done! LOL
