I know this was posted last year...any of this material left or do you know where I can get some uncut coyamitos? These lots have all been sold. I don't have anymore Coyamito Agates right now but am always on the lookout for more! Thank you for your interest! Larry C.

That is cool! I've never seen that before either. Did the guy you purchase it from say whether this is from a newly found source or just an anomaly from an old source? Larry C.

Then IMO JadeCarver gave you bad advice and is probably just a dealer and not a "user" of his products (and by the way I've liked the few JadeCarver products I've purchased). But Unless you have a metal lathe with a centering chuck, or have a centering vise and a drill press that you can use to center and steadily hold the wheel exactly on-center with your drill bit while you drill then it will be difficult to keep the drill bit centered - which is the same problem with trying to hand sand the inside of the hole larger - keeping the hole centered. The reason the threading tap works better is that it has a long taper on the end so it automatically centers itself when inserting it into the arbor hole. I'm not making this stuff up, I've been down this road before. Larry C.

No I'm trying to insert from the bottom. I'm going in at an angle but it will not go on to the arbor shaft with having to bend the blade. I had to loosen the arbor housing to have enough slack to get the blade to slide over the shaft. Do you have this same Raytech L-6s saw and not have to do that? I do have a Raytech L-10S 10" saw and I don't have to drop the housing to add/remove the blade.....but this 6" I seem to have to. Yes, mine is the same 6" Raytech. Also have the 4" and 10" Raytechs and don't have to loosen the bearing housing to change blades in any of them. But I guess since there isn't a powerfeed shown on yours you don't have to worry about getting it misaligned so it shouldn't hurt anything to loosen the arbor bearing bracket to mount the blade if you need to. I'm puzzled? I've always been able to change mine without loosening anything (but the arbor nut) by angling it and staring it through the slot form the underneath side and then when it's far enough up to slide onto the arbor hole it lines right up. Forgive me for asking but you are not trying to insert the new blade through the top of the slot are you? Larry C.

Haven't done any cabbing for more than 5 months. I could start again now that it is warm, but I have some equipment projects first. 1. Tomorrow I'm going to swap out the wheels on my 8" stardiamond cabber. This is a big deal not like changing the wheels on a Genie. The hole on my new 8" hard wheel is slightly too small and I was unable to get it to the end of the arbor. I used some emery cloth to make it bigger, but if that doesn't work I need to buy a sanding drum for my drill. I'll post pictures later of the wheel changing process. ... I've run into this problem before with the center hole on Asian made wheels being too small. The emery wheel or sand paper methods of enlarging them runs the risk of getting the hole a little off center which will make the wheel unbalanced and cause vibration when running. I found that using a threading tap the size of the arbor diameter to thread the inside of the wheel arbor hole (from both directions) usually takes out enough material to make the wheel fit. Larry C.

Large faceted stones of natural materials are going to be very expensive, with the exception of natural clear Quartz and Smokey Quartz which has been cut overseas. Synthetic (lab grown) gems can be a less expensive alternative. Lab Grown gems like synthetic ruby, sapphire, spinel, and garnet (Y.A.G) are all chemically and structurally identical to their natural counterparts but are available at much more affordable prices. I would be reluctant to order any those type commercial "gem" assortments. I doubt you will receive what you are expecting. For someone just getting started buying gems, a gem and mineral show would be the best place to go to learn and compare prices. There are few areas of the lower forty-eight that don't have at least one Gem Show per year. Here are a few web sites that list Gem Shows across the country: www.mindat.org/msgboard-64.htmlwww.the-vug.com/vug/vugshows.htmlwww.rockngem.com/ShowDatesFiles/ShowDatesDisplayAll.php?ShowState=ALLLarry C.

My box of Owyhee flower jasper arrived. That stuff is gonna cut some very nice little slabs. And the 3 freebie chunks of picture jasper that were thrown in to fill the box, WOW !! Thank you Larry. With a little trimming, I can see an awfully nice sphere coming out of the largest chunk. You're welcome! Glad to learn it got there safely and that you like it! Please post us some pictures of the sphere if you make one from it. Larry C.

Thank you Don! I'm not sure what changes have been made that is causing people to have problems with these links using Internet Explorer and possibly other systems. I know some sites like Yahoo Groups and Pay Pal have been trying to reformat their pages to be more accommodating to smaller hand-held media devises and with some this has caused some compatibility issues with certain systems. Not sure if eBay is in the process of doing something like this or if the issue stems from elsewhere. Larry C.

Your link does not work for me and I cannot pull up your shop. any ideas? If you go to eBay's main page, at the top right corner next to the blue colored "Search" button there is a smaller button marked "Advance". Click on the "Advance" button and when it takes you to the advance search page, in the left hand column click on "By Seller". Then type QuailRiver into the block under "Enter User's Seller ID". Then click the blue "Search" button underneath. If that doesn't work with your system then try cutting and pasting this item number, 121588239190 into any eBay search field and click the "Search" button. This should pull up one of my assortment lot listings. From there look in the upper right hand block titled "Seller Information" and in that block click on the "See Other Items" link and that should pull up everything I have listed. Thank you for your interest! Larry C.

I saw their ad on Craigslist a couple of days ago and it had stated something to the effect of "location will be announced later for security reasons". Looked up the ad again today and it now says "For security: Send me your email address and we will send you directions." Sounds a little odd to me, for whatever that is worth coming from another rockhound. atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/clt/4916824652.htmlLarry C.
