I'm afraid that's not really an estate sale. I'm pretty sure that's the dealer who's been doing a traveling roadshow with rocks. The same one there was a discussion about on a thread here a few weeks back when he was in Florida. He's also appeared in Atlanta, one or two cities in Texas and other areas around the country that I've seen ads for. It appears he just rents a place to set up, and usually advertises on Craigslist but wants people to contact him to get the exact location. In the ad he placed that appeared in the Athens, GA Rock and Gem Club newsletter his name was listed as David and is email as Rocktrading@aol.com , although on the net his phone number (214) 901-3872 is listed as being with a business in Dallas, TX called Cementjobs.net. www.athensrockandgemclub.org/docs/2015-03_dops.pdfwww.zoominfo.com/c/Cement-Jobs.Net/367232022Larry C.

Just wanted to let any who may be interested know that I have a used Fac-ette GemMaster faceting machine with accessories for sale, as well as, a few parcels of small Montana Sapphires, and other lapidary and Jewelry making supplies. The listings can be viewed here: tinyurl.com/p9sjynl . If the link doesn't work then just do an eBay seller search for seller name QuailRiver . Also additional photos of the Fac-ette GemMaster and accessories can be viewed on my QuailRiver flickr photo stream here: www.flickr.com/photos/quailriver/ . Thanks for looking! Larry C. UPDATE - I still have the Seattle Fac-ette GemMaster Machine for sale. I cut a test stone on this machine and it has very good accuracy. We are now offering the machine separate from the laps, extra index gears, and Facet Design books in order to lower the price and lighten the shipping weight (the Laps alone weigh approx. 15lbs). The Laps, extra Index Gears, and Facet Design Books are now listed separately with our other listings. The new listings can be viewed here: tinyurl.com/p3grd28. Larry C.

I had a similar thing happen to an older U.S. made motor I was using on a slab saw. One of the wire's terminal connector clip had gotten up against another wire and was shorting out. So I would first take the terminal connector plate off and inspect wires and connections for a short. If they all look okay then I'd check the capacitor. Larry C.

Lyman Industries owned Raytech Lapidary for many years until last year when they sold part of it off to Rick Scott of Scott Enterprises. Larry C. Larry, do you happen to know if the hood for a 10" Lyman & a 10" Raytech are the same ? That's the only part missing from the saw I can buy. Don, I don't know if they were the same or not but I just went out to the shop and measured my old Raytech 10" slab saw and the bed measures 20" x 13-1/2" and the Raytech plastic hood on mine measures 19-1/8" x 13" x 5-1/8". Hope this helps! Larry C.

That is an absolute steal on that Hillquist Slab Saw! Not so much so on the two Reciprocating laps and buffer. I would love to have that saw but too far for me to drive to get it. Hope somebody in this group can snag it before he changes his mind! Larry C.

There is a heck of a deal on a Raytech 10" slab/trim saw with a brand new extra blade all for $200 listed on Craigslist in Sublimity, Oregon. This one won't be available for long at that price. salem.craigslist.org/tls/4993176344.htmlP.S. I am in no way connected to the seller. Larry C.

Quialriver He did buy a box from me I have not heard if he got it yet or likes it I'm sure he will let me know. His material may be real good up there but compared to what a lot of you find it just is not that nice some in the pictures looked pretty good to me. Everyone still needs to be respectful to him if you dont like what he has dont look. What I sent him I think was good rocks but to some of you mine may not be that great ether! I'm not sure how you may be interpreting my post as being disrespectful. Glenn stated that he was "still waiting for people to take up his request and sell him common worthless rocks like bornite, michigan copper, crysocholla, mixed color jasper, opalites and other common stuff that I don't have in my area" Over looking the sarcasm ("common worthless rocks" comment) in his post I merely pointed out that you (kap) had offered to send him a box of colorful agates and jaspers. I had no way of knowing that you two had worked out a deal. Based on Glenn's statement it would have appeared to the contrary. As far as I knew he either missed your post of had forgotten about it. And nowhere did I criticize the quality of Glenn's or anyone else's material here. Larry C.

One other thing I just thought of that should have been one of the first questions I asked; What type of coolant/lube are you using? Larry C. Covington Rock Hound oil that I ordered with the saw. The shipping was either free or discounted when I ordered the saw. The best news I got was that the saw is relatively quiet. My lapidary area is outside the master bedroom and grinding cabs is a lot louder. Just wanted to make sure you weren't using a water based coolant with a saw that large. I've got two Covington 20" saws that I bought used. Both have variable speed belt/pulley systems. I always run them on the slowest feed setting. One of them had some clutch slipping problems when I first got it so I disassembled the clutch system, cleaned it, and reassembled it and tightened it up a bit tighter than it had been and so far so good. Yes that is one of the old MK 301 blades from when they were still being made in the U.S.A.. That should be a very good blade. So I would just try dressing it a couple of times and then try cutting again. And if the clutch is still slipping then try tightening the clutch adjustment. Larry C.

The first cuts went well. I ordered some dressing sticks from Covington. The blade is MK. I'll dress the blade when I get the sticks and if it doesn't resolve the issue, I'll try to adjust the clutch. The blade is 16" and the rough was under 4". There seems to still be a lot of paint on the blade. Maybe it needs a break in period and will get better. Not being confrontational but paint on an MK blade? MK hasn't painted their 301 blades for many years. What color is the Paint? If it is red it may be an old MK blade but if it is gold it is probably a Covington Blade. But either way with a new painted blade you should always cut through a brick or dressing stick before you start cutting rocks with it to remove the paint from the cutting edge or the paint can gum up and interfere with the cutting action. Well if there is not a variable speed that rules that possibility out. It's difficult to determine scale in the photos but those rocks don't look large enough that you would need to be dressing a brand new 14" MK 301 blade after only five or six cuts. Are you sure your blade is a MK 301 and not a Covington 301 blade? If it is a MK 301 blade then the only other thing I can think of that might be causing this is that the slip clutch is set to slip too easily and needs adjustment. Larry C.

I don't sell on Etsy but a couple we were friends with used to do pretty well selling vintage items there. I hope Etsy going public doesn't end up like Ebay did after they went public. Before eBay went public they were great! We used to do well buying and selling on eBay and sold year round there when it was just an auction format. But after they went public and had investors to answer to, fees started going up and they started treating their sellers like crap. I hope the people in charge of Etsy keep it being the great format it currently is and don't try to turn it into another Amazon Z-shop like eBay has tried to do, or even worse try to turn it into another eBay.
