B.P. stands for Before Present. So that's the age range in years before present for that type of knife.

Hello,
The first piece is an Adze. If you look closely at the ends, one will have a slight curve to it and maybe some polish from wood working. The basal-notched piece is a Calf Creek (5,400 - 4,500 B.P.) and was used as a knife blade. Sorry, not sure on the type of chert.
All the best, Michael

I use a pencil to label all my slabs. A little tough to see on dark material, but it works for me.

Looks like a chert nodule to this flintknapper ;-)

I'm a double boxer and pack boxes of rocks tight, no movement. Good ideas with the mesh bags and such though.

I'm a bit old school in that I track everything in Excel. Curious if there is software.... please keep RTH in the loop.

I don't use Ivory soap. I use Borax (found in the laundry isle at most stores). I add a tablespoon to my polish stage and then run a burnish cycle with a tablespoon of it. I use a MT-4 vibe for polish.

I heart my MT-4. So much, I have 3 of them! Anyway, I want to add that you can find Borax at Walmart for cheaper than online. I like to use Borax in my polish stage and then a borax wash after polish.

The man who taught me cabbing used one of these and tile pliers instead of a trim saw. That how he had done it for many years and he was very quick and never seemed to mess up.

I have a map for the Coshocton Flint quarries in Ohio. The flint is black, blue, and often fractures are filled with quartz veins. It takes a nice polish and chips well for stone tools. Type Nellie or Warsaw Ohio into your map route and let me know if you want to check it out. Here is a point I made from material I collected there. All the best, Michael

I am selling my Lortone 33B with the two original barrels. It's been used for a few runs, but is in good shape. I am asking $90 (includes shipping and handling to the continental US). I accept PayPal, credit card, or money order. All the best, Michael

I have two of these by Geo-Sonics and use them from prepolish to polish. I'll agree that they are loud when on full power! I'm not much help beyond that... I didn't even know there was a tune-up kit available. I got mine second hand and they have always worked great.

Hello all, My wife did some organizing and her workbench now looks great. She found a brand new (box was opened) Hot Head Torch and a bead pulling station in a drawer that she wants to sell. She took a class on enameling beads a few years back and never did anymore after the class. Instead of eBay, I thought this would be a great place to post it for sale. I based the Buy It Now price on the price tag on each item minus about 20 percent and added shipping ($8.15 USPS Priority to USA). I accept payment by PayPal, credit card, check and money order. Please feel free to ask any questions. All the best, Michael

They are actually made in India not Mexico. India put Mexico out of business thanks to the pretty colors in their Bloodstone.
