not a clue as to identity, but love the conglomerates... lots of folks here know their TEEPEE material well, and will be along to help out soon, I am sure. great colors- beautiful! Got a saw? those babies need to be slabbed. (hammers would be like murder! )

the heart tickles me... clever wrap! Those are some nice cabs and wraps.. your skills are visibly growing with each post... Seems like very rapid progress.... my eye keeps wanting to linger on that first one, something about the colors and proportions and the way the wire is worked on that one is fascinating to me. holds the eye. Thanks for taking the time to show us what you have been up to! Keep on keeping on!

hsnopi, I got a vibe tumbler when I could only choose one because they do not aggressively round rocks, but leave more of the natural shape. at the time I just wanted to see beneath the outer crust of the rocks i found. It worked great for that! it just depends on your tastes and how you want the finished product to look. I have learned that sometimes rounding is good, and I have been blessed with a barrel tumbler to play with now as well. best of both worlds. welcome to the forum!

bobby1, those are spectacular... I'd have them in a window where I could see the light play on them, maybe over my kitchen sink or with a display and light behind them... somewhere I could admire them often! Rockjunquie... I did know this was one of your favorites. It still doesn't seem like it ought to be a real rock. It always amazes me that these come out of the ground, and are not the product of somebody's imagination. Just wild.

beautiful opals, Wampidy Jim- fascinating gold... and I had no idea you were a professional photographer... published! Looks as though it would be full of the beauty of snakes... I want to hear more about your book project and how you slaved for the gold... I was thinking of getting a pan and trying to find some here. wondering if that is advisable now... you always make me think.

I have found tiny, mostly clear banded agates near Petoskey in Lk Mi but just found an agate from Huron last week. They are pretty rare. I had noticed a similarity in material to IanT's Scottish agates and photos of Lakers, as well as Chinese agates sent to me by Azgnoinc.... so I started looking for that distinctive salmon pink color among the rocks on the beach. I have found pink chalcedony before, but this is the first agate. Folks on the beaches of Lk Huron had been telling me they were finding agates. OK, now I believe them. in this picture of tumbler fodder the agate is about 3 O'clock, with the larger red and black conglomerate pointing at it... collecters of Lakers would laugh...

Gingerkid Jan, that is positively unreal! Looks like something from a magical fairy castle, or the Giant's treasure room which is guarded by dragons...

one of my friends asks me if I take these photos in a dark closet.lol The lights are on in the room but it doesn't look it by the photos. that's OK, I seem to have a lot of free time when it is not good for taking photos outside, lots of mine look like that, too. I appreciate that you post them regardless.

Probably Sudbury Onaping grey impactite. looks like that large inclusion is swimming. Close up inspection of this rock reveals rings around most inclusions, and tiny metallic pieces.

I raised all sorts of poultry for years, same amazement could be said for birds eggs .. its all a miracle... everybody should have the opportunity-no privilege - to witness eggs hatching, or any live birth. indescribable
