I must differ from every one else, but if I read right the person wanted 20 percent off of one but if bought all 10 percent. I would have taken 10 percent and sold the bunch. Even if I broke even it gives cash flow. If you were losing money at 10 percent off you need to look in the mirror and see if what you are doing makes sense. I have to give up 40 percent on consignment, I let them do the pricing and I do ok. Oh and by the way should be in your area next week. Nope, they wanted it for 10% OF (not OFF) the original price. Lynn Color me bad, I misread Miss Beths post. Thanks Lynn for catching this. I appologize Miss Beth. billy

Something native to the area he is from would be cool. How large specimen is he/she looking for? His parent's live near me. I would imagine a nice size for indoor display.

A friend just called and is looking for a nice sized chunk of magnetite or a nice sized mineral specimen for their sons bday. He is a geology major. Any material or ideas would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

Really nice bracelet! I like the curving shapes and I'm curious, never having made a bracelet, what dimension wire did you rassle into those nice curves? I believe the outside is crazy 8 ring shank and the curvy wire is #7 triangle. Not very hard to manipulate.

People are becoming germaphobics. Best advice I ever got was from my daughter a few years ago. She told me to stop using hand sanitizer, as it lowered ones resistance and destroyed the good bacteria. Since then, I developed an allergy to products containing alcohol. I must frequently wash hands at work, but rarely do at home. My resistance to nasty things has increased dramatically. I do need to put up with minor illnesses from time to time, but well worth it. If I can have a minor cold for a few days that prevents me from getting something worse, that is great. My 4 legged family members are extremely healthy. They often lick my hands and share their good bacteria with me. I think nothing of having my hands licked and then eating something without washing my hands. I read that washing hands under warm water for 23 seconds is as effective as using soap. 23 seconds is the time it takes to "sing" the first verse of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. You must be careful to rub all areas of your hands while doing this. The only thing that soap does is get into places you might have missed and under fingernails. Take the following for what it is worth. Know that not everyone agrees. How the food we eat is contaminated is another story. I always wash fruits/veggies/fungi from unknown sources under running water for 20 seconds before eating/preparing. Many veggies are purchased local. All meats are purchased local from raisers who do not use chemical antibiotics or other drugs on their animals or the food they eat. Eggs are local as well. I raise/gather many fruits/veggies/herbs/fungi from my land. Do not use any chemicals on my yard, other than spot spraying with Borax/water for the nasty stuff, aka burdocks, burning nettles (which I am very allergic to) and others. I harvest burdock roots from the edge of my yard. They are a very healthy treat. Grow a variety of herbs, which I dry and use. Preserve the fruits and make sauces/jellies from them. Make many of my own beverages, but am still addicted to coffee, lol. All other purchased beverages come from trusted sources. Between than lack of hand washing and knowing where about 75% of my food comes from has raised my resistance considerably. Going out to eat is another consideration. Have not done that for months, except when my daughter and I went to a trusted restaurant near me for my B-day. Many hospitals are not to blame for the super illnesses that are out there. I feel that chemical companies, pharma companies and the mainstream media are the ones who are. JMHO. . I have worked with dirt my whole life, ate and breathed enough to start my own dirt factory.

Who are you targeting for sales? Most people don't have the knowledge of a high end cab vs a cab that is marginal. There is more times than not something I don't care for sells first and one I think is awesome sits staring at me. People have to not just like it but love it, but I must say there is no better feeling than someone spending their hard earned money on something I created. My time to produce a piece is close to opalpyrexia and he has excellent advise. The bigger the piece the more silver you use and the harder it is not to screw it up. I probably give away as much in value as I sell. I do recover costs for silver and to satisfy my addiction to tools. I have taught several people to silversmith and the basic learning curve is usually pretty quick for the mechanical part of it. Creativity and vision cannot be taught and is probably more important than just the smithing or cab. I love the avatar cab and also the Montana is off the chart cool.

By "splatter" I was referring to how the safety pickle explodes when I drop the slag into it... that is all I am producing so far... slag... too much heat. Gotta work on that. That is why the side panels on the OptiVisor would come in handy. I don't understand, you are dropping hot metal into you pickle? I would quench first in water then put it in the pickle. But maybe I misunderstood.

Very nice! I like that long one a lot. That's a laker? I don't know my lakers very well. Thanks for that picture of the captured balls. It's a really nice piece. Both the long one and etched one are lakers, being from out east I can understand not knowing any lakers.

Nice job on those. The feather ridge is my favorite, too. I also like the captured balls. Also like the two second from last picture. Those are rings, right? Very cool looking. Yes they're rings, I call them schmantzy pantsy rings .... just kidding. I liked that term "captured" @rockjunquei came up with and will probably use it when I send it off to consignment.

I like the feather ridge, too. I love how the balls are "captured". Nice design. The top that looks black is actually green, it is a doublet and some green stone under the cap. I had planned the small captured balls to be at the bottom but I had soldered them upside down. So instead of re doing it I put the bail on the bottom which is now the top.
