I'll be brutal, and i've posted some of my tries so please feel free to return the favor. What catches my eye is the wrapping around the base of the bail where the wrap isn't uniform. Did you wrap that part from the bottom up, from the wide part to the narrow top? If i go from narrow to wide on something it's pretty easy to keep uniform but if i go from wide to narrow the wire likes to slide up and not stay tight. Otherwise the bindings, curves, and just overall appearance are gorgeous.

Similar to this stuff maybe? super hard material. I think it's kinda pretty but it really taxed my saw.

I like that red jasper (quartzite?) ... did yours hint at the colorful details before you tumbled it? I've been surprised by plain looking red rough that got pretty after tumbling. Nice rocks and nice polish, and good pics to boot. Really like the quartz too, you got some nice intact pieces there.

Nice looking batch , the teepees are really nice . If your friend is still interested in rocks , hit him up for more of those agates . I couldn't ask him for more, the tub he left originally is probably 50# or so. I hardly dented it picking out the tumble-size pieces and those were nearly 10#. Besides i hunt teepee canyon frequently and have many already, though i'm convinced the specimens he brought me are nicer than most i find. Still, if anybody comes unbidden to the door trying to re-home rocks they won't be turned away ... I spent the afternoon today cutting pet wood / jasper / agate into bite size pieces to feed the tumbler, mostly Fairburn and Indian Creek SD material. First shot tumbling mostly cut and known solid material so i have high hopes, and maybe by polish time it will be nice enough to give the Viking vibe another try.

Looking good, Tim. You've got some colorful pet wood in there. I really like that last pic. Those are self collected, right? Most of the Teepees in this batch were given to me by a friend as repayment for "rekindling his interest in rocks." He's promised to show me a couple good spots for bubblegum and prairies this Summer. Most of the other stuff was self collected from the Black Hills and Buffalo Gap, SD. The pet woods were consolation finds at Indian Creek while fairburn hunting.

This run was mostly Teepee Canyon agate, and knowing how teepee chert loves to crack and crater topped off with fails from round 1 and a few new cut pieces. Note to self: you can't tumble through fractures. Not a great finish but some look OK in poor light
Couple teepees, couple misc. jasper (?) and a matched trio of obsidian (I think) for wrapping practice:
2 cut pieces I thought were really dark pet wood but now think are obsidian. The cut faces have a sheen of designs on them that didn't photograph well:
Misc. pet wood / jasper / obsidian:
And some of the better Teepees:
Thanks for looking.

Just spectating but wanted to thank everyone involved --- seeing all your cabs and wraps is educational and inspires me to keep trying and experiment.

They all look really good and nice pics.
That big moss agate looks flawless. I had several Sweetwaters in my 1st batch and some turned out great, but others seemed to wear to where the inclusions were exposed and those pitted really bad. Yours is gorgeous.

Interesting. My biggest worry is usually the intact grit that accumulates around the rim of the lid on my QT12. Since I've been doing the 3-stage SiC80 / AO80 / polish I don't worry about thorough cleanout except after the last round of SiC and prior to polish, and for those it's usually necessary just to select what rocks look ok to move on regardless of contamination issues.

if there is a flat surface in your yard or home that's not covered with rocks, you're doing something wrong the red (jaspers?) in your second pic show the glassy shine pretty well.

So much better than my 1st try at wrapping! You did a hell of a great job....NICE!! Thanks for the vote of confidence fossilman. I want to try wrapping some shark teeth but they're really small, will post results if they're not awful. Finished 11 wraps so far and still haven't done the same bail twice, hoping for a go-to bail eventually ...
Couple more:

I have done electrical & electronics work all my life and actually was proud of my wiring work. Well, this looks exactly like what I've been doing all that time and I think that it would be easy for Me to learn this craft. Been watching a few videos and it Looks Easy to me. I just wonder if a Wrap made with 12 gauge household electrical wire has any value ? Hmmmmmm . . . what about some wraps made with LED lights . . . Hey woof, electrical wire would be really stiff to work with. Also "wrapping" wire is often treated to make it tarnish resistant, although some people like to intentionally tarnish their pieces for artistic effect. Still no reason not to experiment with it.
I'm a self-employed PC tech, and one of the practical things I learned in college was electrical splicing and soldering. I think the methods used in good wire splicing transfer nicely to wrapping.
