Really cool jeannie, Scott has done a great job. One thing though, tell him you want all sintered diamond wheels, they aren't that much $....

First time I've seen one of these. Eudryas grata, Bird dropping moth. Ingenious camo.

Two milk crates, a rope securing a tilted saw and a slightly rusted stool, Classic "Red-neck" engineering!! and that is meant as a compliment of the highest order!! First time I ever raised the table top to a 45 degree angle. Made a nice secure side support. Good eye access to grind. Yellow rope is important. White rope may not work. Yes, red-neck/hack engineering lol, gets it done every time. Need some bailing wire and she'll be complete. Let's call it a Texas agate grinder Henry. Where's the duck tape?

Great reads, thanks Dave. Hopefully you'll be inspired some day to pull together info about the geology of NE Tennessee. Found a few things but nothing to the detail of the Texas reports.

Way cool project Sabre52, watch letting the Cypress Vine go to seed. Had some planted on an arbor about 10 years ago. Still get seedlings every year.

I'm going with a Corian® slab for the background. OK, here's the scoop on the background. I wanted to try something I could recommend to other people to use as a background. I get that question from time to time. It had to be something that everyone has access to. Soooo.......
Viola! Backdrop by American Standard.
aDave , sorry this doesn't come in grey. I'll get to work on that one too.
Seen some of those fancy toilets when we get to go to town but not many of us hillbillies can afford 'em.

Sweet tumbles Randy. What are #s 13 & 23? Haven't seen the mix of moss & fortifications like those in 23.

Totally agree on the dedicated polish barrel. I don't have a dedicated polish barrel yet for the uv-10 but I only run the ao-80 seems like it breaks down enough it doesn't matter. ive never put sic in it though. How many runs you put through your UV10? No embedded AO? That brings up an interesting question, even if AO 80 was carried over would it affect the polish? Your results seem to indicate it does not. Need to get some.

How long did you run them in the rotary to get them that round? A month and a half? Probably longer than that Cliff but I don't know the exact time. Just pull ones that are ready at clean outs.

What's the little brown striped rock with a lot of glare on it in the bottom right corner of the second picture? Banded iron? I like it, whatever it is. That may have come from some of the bags of decorative rocks I picked up at the Dollar Tree store to use as smalls. The bags state Product of Canada so you've probably correct about the banded iron ID.

Nice collection of shiny rocks! Lots of variations to look over. Good looking batch, Mike. Thanks Randy. Not gettin a good shine really, I HAVE to get another drum for my UV10 dedicated to polish. The SiC just embeds in the HDPE so it's like having time released coarse grit. There's an idea for jamesp.....
