My guess is because of their properties they can be formed, pressed, etc. into something durable and porous.

Maybe the wife could get them wholesale through the plant biz (used in hydroponics). They are also available made out of AlOx.

Did you find that British Enfield (or maybe Springfield) bayonet by metal detecting by any chance? Man, it's a toss up which theme is coolest....rocks or the mini man cave stuff. Grandfather found it while tilling his garden.

I've thought about making a coffee table with a glass top and a box beneath to put rocks in. I think that would be an interesting coffee table. Something like this: Rob, I've actually got something like this. Used to be nice & organized before grandkids.

Thanks Mike , I was trying to remember what they called those . I have one but never used on a mine pile but I think it would work pretty good . a 3 prong might be better but don't know if they make such a thing . I beleive only Satan carries the 3 prong type....
