Very nice! Did you put the final polish on those with a rotary or vibe? You certainly have the polishing skills! These were all done in rotary. SiC 30 for a few weeks then I put in AO 80 and ran for two weeks without checking then did AO polish for a week. Thank for the encouragement Only 3 grits, wow. Great batch and pics Richard.

My dear wife dated Jeff Foxworthy a couple of times in high school. He was a fixture at her cousin's house that lived across the street. She said her cousin asked her to go out with him as a favor. A redneck is a girl who dates JF and does not marry him ha ha ha. With a net worth estimated at $100 million, Jeff Foxworthy is one of the world’s wealthiest and most successful stand-up comedians. Bet he doesn't know how to weld or tumble rocks.

Sorry jamesp but I tend to agree with Garage Rocker on the hillbilly & redneck categories although I do beleive Deliverance was filmed in northern Georgia. Also we don't go to family reunions just to meet women, we also like the food. Couple of jokes about that - You might be a redneck if you attend your family reunion to pick up chicks.
You might be a redneck if your family reunion is held at a rest area.
Relatives are people who come to dinner who aren't friends.
But going for the beer food BEER is a reason I'm down with, lol. Old downhome cooking is the best!
Jean
ETA - Sorry, got distracted thinking about the food BEER and reunions.
Nice tumbles, especially like five and six, like everybody else...
Someone from California quoting Jeff Foxworthy, what is this country coming to? ? Just joking with you Jean.

I like number five a lot and I love number six. I guess I'm not too original. You juggle & tumble rocks so I would say you are quite original.

I like the melanoma, it looks like a leaf. 5 and 6 are cool and I see some Montana agate in there. Always like that. Nice work! A hillbilly and a mountaineer? I thought we were hillbillies up here and Georgia had rednecks. Can we get some clarification jamesp ? Is there no established classification? Depends on the family breeding. 1rst cousins tend to be too close for south and central Georgia. North Georgia mountain zone dances to different rules. Red necks are the cream of the crop. Pride and joy. To be saluted. Elite category. Sorry jamesp but I tend to agree with Garage Rocker on the hillbilly & redneck categories although I do beleive Deliverance was filmed in northern Georgia. Also we don't go to family reunions just to meet women, we also like the food. This was a mix of rocks that were ready at different times so I don't recall the times in the stages.

Cool set! What are 5 and 6? Thanks Richard. Think 5 & 6 are some kind of moss agates from cobbledstones

Saw scraps from cobbledstones, crazy lace from beefjello and local finds. 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9. Wasn't as solid as I hoped 10 11. Melanoma?

Wondering if Ivory soap or similar non-sudsing laundry soap would suffice instead of Borax? Try dishwashing detergent powder. Get mine at Dollar Tree for a buck.

Each rock has it's own personality. Yep, can't find these on the Rio or SJ in Texas. Maybe txrockhunter or Sabre52 will want to trade for some of these beauties......

That sucker needs to be sawn across the tubes. Guessing rugose coral. Very cool find Mike. Looks like the tubes absorbed salts and made black eyes around each tube. As requested:

Coral form Georgia is pure, sound is called tinging. A good test of it's quality of silicification and lack of fractures. It could be fashioned into a tuning fork. This piece is as found.
