Sweet, just make sure to post your disclaimer that individual results may vary....I've got 10lbs of AO 54 that I'm going to try when I get enough rounded rocks for a batch. Bought myself a UV-10 for π, Cabelas had it for $222. BTW, that green moss is awesome, looks like algae growing in clear spring water. A note on the AO 54 in the vibe. I know most vibes are not made to run coarse grit like 80 due to rapid wear. SiC 80 and AO 80 are two different animals. SiC way more aggressive. Way more. I ran AO 46 in my Viking vibe and yes it is made for SiC 80. I would say the AO 46 had smoothed to 220 within 4 hours though. The vibe works quick on aluminum oxide. So my point is that AO 54 way only be aggressive to your bowl for a short period of time. You may not suffer much wear. Running un-tumbled sharp aluminum oxide ceramic media in a vibe to remove sharp edges is probably a bad idea though. Best to break ceramic media in with a rotary. Thanks for the heads up Jim, I am planning on just using it in the rotary. Merry Christmas bud.

MrMike The AO 80 experiment in the rotary has worked twice. No need for AO 10 or AO 24, the 80 will do the trick after SiC 30-46/70-60-60/90 Sweet, just make sure to post your disclaimer that individual results may vary....I've got 10lbs of AO 54 that I'm going to try when I get enough rounded rocks for a batch. Ha ha, I have been looking at those MrMike . $40. seen them. I have a complaint about them, the bottom side is not flat but gridded out with divots. Pretty sure the vibe will be packing rocks into those divots and trapping unbroken grit. The top side is perfect, the texture is perfect, the thickness is perfect. They are a bit porous like a sponge though. Don't like that either. Shopped at industrial rubber suppliers on the inet for dead solid rubber. Either they won't sell a small amount or they max out at 1/2 inch. Frustrated. Search SBR Rubber Sheet & Rolls on Amazon. SBR is used to make tumbler barrels. Look for at least 70A hardness. a. Shore 20A = Rubber Band b. Shore 40A = Pencil Eraser c. Shore 60A = Car Tire Tread d. Shore 70A* = Running Shoe Sole e. Shore 80A = Leather Belt f. Shore 100A = Shopping Cart Wheel *Most common durometer

πππππ The thick rubber ones for outdoor use. Different sizes men's, women's, youth & mini. I was experimenting with one to use on a homemade vibe. I wouldn't slice them up just make an opening (at the valve stem-weak point maybe?) large enough to get the rocks in/out. Self contained compartments cheap enough to be disposable. Looking for two pieces of 3/4 thick flat rubber cut to fit tightly and wedge into the cross section of this hopper. Tight but removable for cleaning. Dividers that can be moved around for different sized big rocks. To make a left-middle and right compartment. Big rock in each compartment. That way each compartment would have the contour of the hopper for designed movement. I am having a hard time finding 3/4 to 1 inch thick flat rubber stock. May have to cut it out of the sidewall of an old tractor tire. Tractor Supply has 4'x6' horse stall mats that are 3/4" thick for $39.99

Fire hose? Grit may embed in hose, have different pieces for different grits. Cut fire hose for compartments ? πππππ The thick rubber ones for outdoor use. Totally cool coral James!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been looking for a mother load vein of the same. There is a spot in the river where the polyps are better. What a coincidence, I had some polyps sampled from my "river" a couple of weeks ago.

Your welcome ryan . On Mindat read the first pinned post about info you need to provide for an ID. You find some pretty cool stuff. Thank you I'm starting to find out why I don't find anything online about my area or the gore range mountains. And on mindat I read the part on clear photos which made me feel sorry for the crummy pics I've been posting I'll get my pictures straight and clear from now on and I'll replace old fuzzy pics sorry. Also I got thumbs up to showing Id makes everything that much more credible. Thanks again MrMike No need to apologize to me, I take crappy pics. Hopefully you can get some good info on your specimens. You've definitely got a knack for rockhounding.

Agreed adam . Maybe Mike can make 'near slabs' with the sledge and then chip tumbles from them. All depends on how easy the chert breaks. Hopefully like glass. I know the fine grained quartzite is a beeatch to break with a hammer. Dangerous too.
