Last spring I bought a 24" saw that had the oil stored in it for over 20 years. I drained it to move it, when I got it home i used a putty knife to scrape all the settled crud and and re-installed the oil. Cutting like new.

Sorry, a little late to the party... Is the splash guard for the blade limiting the blade from easily sliding out? If so, remove the splash guard or pull it to the side to get the blade to slide out. Tim

Tommy yours is serpentine from Young Az. I heard the site is collected out. The Hewitt Cyn stuff is called marble, I suspect it is a serpentine as well. The two site are in the same general mtn range, I have only seen the soft reds in timloco piece come from Hewitt Cyn. You never know, either way he has some nice slabs. Polish them up with Zam.

Looks like Hewitt Canyon Marble from Az. If so, contains asbestos, take caution when grinding.

A two head machine has a slightly more random pattern while the sphere is grinding. It does require more baby sitting since you will always have a dominate grinding cup, other wise you end up with an egg.

The Covington is a better quality machine, at 3x the price of the HP model it better be. They will both produce the equivalent quality sphere. I already own three machines, if I was in the market for another and I did not want to build it, I would by the HP.

The first two are Lizard Stone, it was cut parallel with the layers, looks good that way. It is collected about half way from the BC road in and Wikieup.

Many a hiker climb up there to view the sunset and require rescue to get down. Use to live about half mile from there. Tim

That's a Bad A$$ saw!!! I think Larry may of had that back in my Goddard days, looks familiar.
A few months ago I picked up a Slik 14" drop saw that has a hydraulic dampener, cool addition to a drop saw.
How long did it take to cut that agate?
