I have used A-1100 Silane to clean, then hxtal to bond stone to stone with great results. There are three pieces of stone in the picture, the bottom two were bonded together then cut, ground and polished. Bonded surface was cleaned --no sanding. The Guy on the Video Recommends it too, Did you clean with anything else or just that stuff? I ordered a Liter of it from His Glass works thats where I got the HXTAL from. The slabs were rinsed in water with a little bit of dish soap.

Nothing personal, but for me a glock was like hanging on to a poorly carved piece of plastic lumber. It does have a "plastic" feel I agree that it is pretty spartan, but if (and I hope never) I need to use it in a worst case scenario I have no worries about operator error even though I haven't used it for a long while. I've added one of those rubber sleeve things (sorry don't remember proper name) with contours and non-slip bumps. It works!

Glad the dog was enough. I prefer Glock--no d@#^ safety levers to think about when the only thing you want is the trigger... Rockoonz is absolutely right in his recommendation.

Sorry, haven't hounded that part of the state, but do check the weather very shortly before you travel. Right now it is unseasonably warm, down right hot. However the nightly lows are apt to reach freezing. Scenery and wildlife are both fabulous. Have fun!

We have both the band saw and a Taurus ring saw. Both are very useful. parfive is absolutely correct on the feather light touch! If you push either one too hard the replacement parts are a little expensive. I mostly use the Gryphon on softer materials. Love the precision. It is great for maximizing yield. We don't have the Taurus set up in a dedicated space so it only gets set up when we want to do something that being able to cut in any direction is a benefit. Enjoy your new saw!
