Just received four (4) boxes of Leather from Julie ! I think I will have enough to make just about every kind of knapping apparatus and protective pad device known to the knapping world !
And enough left over to make a pair of those FUNKY CHAPS !!!
WHOOO-HOOO !!!

It looked like there was one Clovis base in the pics. Hard to tell without hands on touchy-feely. Basil grinding doesn't show up in pics. well !

A tad bit low in my opinion. Do some research on the material before letting go of it !
Donating it to a local Museum and deducting an outrageous amount like the president gets for his inaugural papers might be a bit more profitable.
NOT THAT MUCH, but you get the idea ! If you do not want to keep the collection, check with you accountant and see what he says.

I am with Mel and Amber. Captain Kangaroo used to hang out on week ends in a Beer joint in Prarie Du Chein Wisc.
I remember some nights he WAS funnier in person than on the Tube !

Nice collection, it's amazing how some of your points from S. America closely resemble points from the mid-west and others are dead ringers of points found in the N.western U.S. A few of them are exactly like points that have been found recently in the Sahara Desert in Africa. After working with several different types of stone, I sometimes think that the workability of the material had a tremendous influence on the halfting of the point or blade. #12 showing the pronounced wings , look like Obsidian and are very similar to the points found on the Rogue River in the N. West U.S. #17 has 3 points with fairly basic halfting areas that are tongue shaped and they look like they are possibly made from Basalt which is not easily worked. Those points look EXACTLY like some of the points I have found here in Iowa made from the local chert which is really hateful to work with . ( I got the blood blisters to prove it ) It seems as tho the people that worked the materials that were similar in nature came up with basically the same shapes for their tools even tho they were separated by thousands of miles or oceans !
Thank you for sharing your collection with us, it's a treat seeing tools from another part of the world .

I was going to guess that it was a huge piece of the green glass that's found on the Sahara !

Neolithics supply used to carry it in several colors but the last time I looked they did not show any on the slab page . You might call and see if they still carry it !
Their # is 719-687-3552 8to8 C.S.T.

Woody,
I am on to the Krazy Glue , even have a tube of liquid stiches in my tool box down at the Blacksmith shop. A one layer wrap of Duct Tape on the first and second fingers of the holding hand , first joint up, is a good bit of insurance ! Those two digits seem to get the most abuse.

Jeri,
Thanks for sharing your collection, it's neat looking at tools that were used on a daily basis that come from other lands and times ! It's also amazing how some tools that are used /were used, for the same purpose could look so much alike from one land mass to another. It almost seems as tho a traveling tool salesman was operating in the mid west U.S. , Central Europe and S. America at the same time.
I sure would like to know EXACTLY where that Bolo round piece was found because there might be some OTHER interesting pieces nearby. I believe those type rounds were standard armament on Spanish treasure ships !

Well made points, I envy you out there because of your close proximity to good knapping material ! The limestone we have here is rather hard to deal with. The base end of the Silver Sheen is eye catching, I am going to have to work on one of those and the back of the hand flake brushing I can relate to also. Those teeny-tiny sharper than razor cuts seem to bleed FOREVER before they stop leaking !
