Looks real good Mel. I still haven't tried making any out of flint, how much tougher is it to work with over obsidian?

Looks like sand blasting to me. I have done stuff like that on glass. If it is the pattern will be slightly higher.

I think this one is big enough to be called a spear head, maybe its only big enough for a dart? Anyhow just finished this one. Broke my first try tonight, but 50% is better than normal for me.

Thanks guys, glad you like them. No secret Thom Tapp, I just hold one end of the wire against the stone twist it around bottom to top, then I use the excess on the bottom to squeeze another time around in which seems to snug up everything.

Good to see you using the new home built lap. How did it work for you? You got shine in your picture but maybe too much. Can't really see the pattern. Thats the problem with taking pics. Tilt a little one way and there is so much glare you can't see the rocks pattern. Tilt the other way and the pattern shows great but no shine. Keep em coming Brent.

Great job Mel. I just got some stuff from Harley today. He sure has been busy getting us all knapping. Still want to see some of his points though, I have heard they are great.

Harley has be giving me advice on knapping arrowheads and I just got a couple things in the mail from him today. He sent me a big box of obsidian slabs and some knapping tools. I'll be able to go after a whole herd of buffalo soon. Just wanted to let everyone know what a nice guy he is.
Thanks Harley.
