Thanks Jonathan! There is a wide variety of Tahoma jasper-agate. You can get some nice cabs if you're willing to work around the fractures. I've got quite a bit of it, but hardly any of my larger pieces are fracture free.
BTW, Good video of you and Rob (MichiganRocks) going to get the Nethers Farm Flint Ridge flint ( I hope I've got the right person!).

Beautiful cabs! Cannot wait to see the result of that intarsia. Adrian Thanks Adrian! I think it will make a nice intarsia.

Great bunch of cabs! I’m curious do you self collect the tahoma? Thanks JD. Yes, it was all self-collected.

As someone who was once very into landscape photography I have a deep appreciation for this. Glad to see you back and sharing your work Garry! Thanks rockindad! Glad you enjoyed it.

Garry that is a very beautiful piece. The scene is gorgeous. Your work is very inspiring indeed! Thanks Nate! I appreciate your comment. I like to find rocks with scenes in them for intarsia/framed cabs.

Garry, it's been a minute. Love your picture frames, so perfectly joined. I got a bunch of preformed stuff in an estate last year, his white was a countertop material in bone white, don't know quartz, corian, or what. Also have a boatload of bone white PDA so covered either way. Thanks rockcoonz! It's definitely been a minute! Getting a good white has always been a problem for me. The polka dot was a bear on this one because it is SO hard, and I started with a really thick piece - took forever. Sounds like you are all ready to do some more intarsia with white frames BTW, I liked your intarsia tutorial with the Willow Creek jasper. Turned out great!

Garry, that is beautiful! I know one day I'll get the bug to do an intarsia piece...but it won't be for awhile. R Thanks for posting this! Thanks Jason! It is addicting. You definitely have the skills. I'm guessing for the time being you will keep plenty busy with your Fairburns, prairie agates and wire wrapping.

One thing, I think, that is keeping me from doing it is that I have to cab mine to polish it. I would rather flat lap it. I gave my flat lap to my son. DOH! Maybe I should get another. But- as everyone here knows (because I whine about it all the time) I don't have any room for anything else. Is yours domed or flat lapped. I'm not sure from the image.
I rounded over the edges of the pet wood frame - the rest is flat. I did it on my Genie. A retired couple came out for some cabbing lessons a couple days ago. They said they don't even have room for a Genie, so I recommended they get an "All-U-Need" unit with 8" wheels. That might work for you as well.

Garry, glad to see you back! I was just looking at an old thread the other day and you had posted on it and I was wondering where you had gone. Your intarsia piece is beautiful! What is the center stone?
Thanks Robin! The center stone came from an old dig in Utah, near Salina. It is similar to wonderstone in hardness. It's the only piece I got with some blue-ish coloring in it. I dug it about 20 years ago.

I love the scene and it's so well framed. Nice job. Nice to see you, BTW. Thanks Tela! I used "dotless polka dot" for the white frame, but I won't have to do that anymore since I just got about 20 pounds of howlite (the good stuff, without the dark veins).

I've been away for awhile but I'm still playing with rocks. Here's my latest - kind of a distant scene with water, shoreline, far away mountains, pink sky. Not perfect but I'm just going with it. You can see the waves breaking on the shoreline. Thanks for looking!

Nice mosses! Plan "E" is my favorite of this batch. The Maury Mt I have needs to be cut super thin if you want the moss to stand out. I think it was Bikerrandy that made some really nice doublets (backed with white material) out of it a couple years ago.

Superb! Both workmanship & material. Nice to see fracture-free cabs. That BM heart is my favorite.

Nice cabs Mike. You're inspiring me to try the vibe for polishing some of my cabs. The first and last ones are my favorites.

Nice wood! Great polish & patterns. I like the ones with red & orange in them.
