I take it apart and use a de-greaser spray. If you have latex gloves wear them, it's a mess. Lots of paper towels too.

My 33b does the exact same thing the bushings need cleaned up.

Hello All, My wife showed me a bracelet on etsy and she asked me what kind of bead is on it. I have no idea what to call it though. The seller calls it a "metal plate" but searching doesn't come up with a match. Anyone know the name for this dragonfly? It's apparent that it is massed produced. www.etsy.com/listing/540058585/turquoise-dragonfly-brown-leatherThank you, Michael

It has to be a pretty vug for me to include it in a cab. No pits or internal fractures here.

Great deal! Now my wife will have some Pietersite cabs to set. Also, I found your website very easy to navigate and seamless between the cart and checkout. Pretty slick for new customers to add an account too. I use FireFox.
Thank you! Michael

Reminds me of Knife River Flint (ND), even has the same white cortex from weathering on some of them. But, yeah it's some variety of silicate.

I can relate to just about everything all the free-formers wrote. I'd only add that I enjoy the eye appeal from the angles and curves.

Hello all, I've been making a few groove wraps and recently finished one from an agate slab I got at an estate sale. I'm not sure of the type of agate. Anyone have a guess? Thanks for looking! Michael

Thank you for letting us know. I have met him and sold to him but, not in a few years.
If you ever need any custom knapping done, I would be happy to fix you up.

Sure, here is a photo of a point: It does take a little Photoshop to remove any dust (and scratches that accumulate on the glass) to get the perfect black. All the best, Michael

I use a copy stand setup like that with sunrise/sunset lighting for taking photos of artifacts. Add a clear piece of glass and you can make your rocks float ;-)
Nice setup!

I'll second cutting out all sugar (including the stuff hidden in processed foods). It is very hard to do and you best enjoy cooking. Well worth being thinner in my 30's than I was in high school though!

Great topic! I sketch out way more cabs than I ever cut. When I do, I trim them out first and usually stick with my sketch. I do like to freeform though and have a tendency to just do that instead these days.

For flintknapping, the average temps to heat treat Ohio Flint Ridge Flint range between 600 and 675 degrees. Most turkey roasters don't get that hot so a pottery kiln is used. I'm sure you'll find the pieces in the corners of the roaster will redden some but, that will only be a few millimeters deep. Cool experiment nonetheless.
All the best, Michael

Great topic! The best thing in my shop is a recent upgrade to led overhead lighting. Being able to see is awesome!

Did you ever find a way to repair it? I have a MT-10 Mini Sonic and the knob on the right went out.
All the best, Michael
