Glad you had a good time. Was in Holbrook last summer and got some wood. Not $400.00 wood! How big is that $400.00 piece? Just curious. Thanks.

I bought 4 gallons from them a few weeks ago (free shipping over $50). Fast shipping, nice packaging and good service. They even called to make sure everything arrived and in good shape. You'd think here in Utah you could get it cheap. Nope. Lowest I've ever encountered was $19+ and the local store is nearly $22. Glad I ordered and got the free shipping. I think the weight was around 35 lbs. I think it got here in three days from Texas. jeff

That is part of a barite ball. I've found quite a few of them near Hanksville (Utah). Great trip report. Thanks. jeff

Yes. Probably from the blue forest (or close to it) in Wyoming. The brown around the outside is petrified algae.

Thanks John! The last time I went to check out Salina wonderstone I found the same thing. Found a few scraps of multicolored stuff. If I need wonderstone I usually go to the Vernon site in Northern Utah. Beautiful colors and swirls in that rock, but can't really polish it. Kids love it though.

Odd that you would find the equipment. It's a radiosonde, a package of weather equipment. Just taught my ninth graders about them last week in class.

Thanks Parfive for the idea. Did you help build the pyramids?

I'd call around for the firebrick. I live in Utah where lots of people burn wood and the snow is deep in the winter and when I called Home Depot and Lowe's they acted like they didn't have a clue what firebrick was. Turned out neither one had it. Course, I lived for 40 years in Orange County, Ca, so probably Home Depot in So Cal has it. Go figure.

Love my 12" Lortone. Use it a lot more than my 18" or 6" trim saw. jeff

Haven't seen anything like that in Utah, but I haven't seen every rock in Utah either. Nice. jeff

Nice. Bet you were excited. Those would make a person want to facet stones even if they had never done it before. jeff
