That looks pretty cool Alisha:<)) I think you're right about taking the coating off:<)) You see how the loops are twisted a little; you can straighten them out when they are still on the form by giving it a little twist back straight. Jim; The stone is probably the same thing as you find laying around over there. Not quartz or agate.

Thanks for bringing it over Jim, ;D ;D Does the stone I wrapped up above look anything like some of the material you find? Alisha; hope you post whatever you wrap here too!

That is nice material and you did a great job making the rings. What size saws do you use? I know every size is different , or do you cut them aout then grind to fit? lloyd

thanks for the props Jim that turned out great and I don't have to say " for your first one" either. I really am going to have to get some silver and gold wire to go with the copper. Is that stone some kind of coral? As a whole it turned out great. Would you mind dumping a picture with a quick comment in the laceedge thread? One of the ladies was asking how secure the stone feels and I said it was just a matter of tightening up the frame wire to where you want it when you make the bail and the loops on the edge are adjustable; how did it turn out for you? I can't see who made the comment in here but it's a HE ;D ;D Ahh, Kristy ;D ;D

I'm glad you found your heart, it's a classic I think. And the stone looks nice with it.

Hope everyone tries a few to see what they can do with it, I didn't have much time but I was working on doing a double form before going back to the mandrel and trying different forms out and am getting some interesting designs to use on my next fully wrapped stone. Now I'm going to have to order some wire. I think it would work pretty well to use for a solder on bezel as well by doing all the loops on one side.

your reddish with white heart in the center looks like it could have come straight off the rock I took this slice from. I found it up here in South central BC on top of a mountain where the glaciers left it I call it a jasper It looks pretty washed out in the picture but darken it dwn a ways for the way it really looks Attachments:

I'm glad the general feeling seems to be "it's so easy even I can do it" That is exactly what I thought when I thought of it! I wouldn't mind seeing how anyone elses look; some "spruced up" versions, or has anyone got any pictures of how yours turned out? Or any tricks to make it look better/different?

ITS, I like that. Is the stone secure? Does it move if you try to move it? Hi Pat; It is as secure as you make it when you pull the frame wire tight and form the bale and you can also squeese the loops together from opposite sides of the stone if you needed but this is a very slim stone and I had to push it in to the loops rather than having to worry about being loose, The loops make an exceptionally strong retainer, it's like having a whole bunch of the ones I've seen with 2 or three holding a stone in.
