Why do People Avoid Medical Care? A Qualitative Study Using National Data Jennifer M. Taber, Ph.D., Bryan Leyva, B.A, and Alexander Persoskie, Ph.D. Additional article information www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4351276/I can't claim to have ready the whole thing but it sounds about right. nih study sounded like a smart enough start for you to elaborate on. Although a response following some genuine medical assessment would lower all of our blood pressures. 👍

Missed this one, Happy Birthday to a fellow carnivorous plant growing, rock licking, wife irritating guy. You make some fun times here. I guess 2/3 of that last statement applies to all the guys here but you are above average I'd say.

Funny things we do indeed. Did something similar back in the day. Cut open a few packs of firecrackers on the kitchen table in front of mom. NO concern there for some reason. Rewrapped that powder in one paper with 2 tied fuses attached for safety measure. Wrapped around it with tape a zillion times. Brother and i took it into the metal shed and placed it on a board. Lit and ran.... nothing.... inched back up to it and BLAM !! All i saw was a ball of fire. The metal shed was not a good idea, ears rang for a long time. Scared the cr#p out of us but we still have all our appendages and most of our marbles. Good times !

-13 when I hit the road this morning, 6 on 4th way home. Shed got to 28 by the paint cans where I have the thermometer. Ceiling insulation paying off, won't take much wood to warm things up for working.

Heading to Marburg in Jan. First time didn't have any time to do more than work and walk up every street. Yes every street goes up, now I know where the folks got the expression from. I tried to visit a mineral museum but due to my inability to read german the guy was sufficiently annoyed to wonder why the dumb American was bothering him during off hours. No luck there. Ideas ?

Fun day was had with the wife. Picked up 14" covington slab/trim saw with stand mounted on plywood and wheels. A hunk of some white tombstone material was 3/4 cut into a cube still in the vise. Runs straight, has barely used covington gold triple clad blade. Just need to find a clamp for the feed. Trim table and vise tightened bar were there.
The sphere machine was made by spencer lapidary from elwood,in. Three head runs quiet and straight. Might need a new sheet metal plate on one of the motors. Looks like something might have gotten stuck once or twice and torqued it to crack a bit. Multiple sets of pvc cups for each grit from small to bigger than I need and another set of metal cups from small to bigger than I need. Some grit and diamond pastes.
Both have instruction books from 1992.
The weirdest thing was this glass hexagon that went with it all. Probably 6" × 6" x 12". It was a chore to handle, over 25 lbs. Clean and almost scratch free. Refracted the heck out the setting sun in the shop.
Topped of with some imported German pilsner for good measure. I think we made out pretty well. Pics to come when I figure that out.

Got the saw and sphere maker. Will pick it up next week and get to look through house at that time. Old engineer that travelled to Russia frequently, story there I'm sure. Lots of tools, Russian propaganda etc.. Now to take the tacoma or the grain truck ? Budget says tacoma but my imagination says there's a ton of rough calling my name. She said the sale is Dec.2-3 in St Charles. Saw some metal working machines on Craigslist too from there. Will be an interesting look around. www.sophiadubrul.com/sophia-estate-sales

Posting deleted by seller. Can be seen in sale link further down. Pics 128-130
Giving this some serious thought. A couple hours away but didn't recognise that type of sphere maker. Researching now.
