I ran all of my tumblers in the full Idaho sun last summer, 85-102 degrees....Lortone's gave me way way more trouble than my Chicago's did. I just took the motor covers off of both, the Lortones had a lot of trouble with the belts slipping, but that was the only trouble I had. Luckily this summer I have them all in my shop so no worries about sun anymore!!!

If you're back in Idaho, I would like some rocks Shipping would consist of me coming to your place LOL If not, then I have plenty as is and you should pass them on to the noobs and less fortunate.

I had a12 ft Afrock that tried to ingest his water bowl after a rabbit had snuggled up to the side of it. Funny thing is that I only fed frozen/thawed, so he pushed the rabbit up to the side and then tried to eat it after he consumed 4 lbs of rabbit LOL

excellent. I'll take that advice. I have some petwood stored up (and some scary obsidian) from gift boxes from members. I need to tumble those this summer. If they come out half as nice as those, I'll be happy. Those look mighty fine! Dont be scared of the Obsidian snowmom, just use Kristies tutorial for the Lot-O and it will come out killerific!!!!! Here it is in case you aren't aware of what I am referring to : Krystee Ob recipe

No problem, although Kristines tutorial may be very helpful even without a Lot-o. Best of luck anyways!!! The separation issue in my vibe is a big problem when running obsidian Nick. And when it separates it bruises the obsidian. Frustrating. It is peculiar to the tub type vibe. And apparently no easy solution. The donut and barrel shaped vibes have better mixing of rocks. Hmmmm, have ya tried tumbling them with talc as a buffer? That may solve yer bruising issues.

jamesp, I have your solution......buy a Lot-o-Tumbler from me and you can tumble all the obsidian that you would like to feed it with only Ceramics for filler and Borax as a thickener for your slurry. Have you read Kristie's tutorial?? It is a breeze if ya follow that!!! Here is the link: TNT Mom Tut Thanks Nick. A Lot-O would have gotten it done. well, I pulled the rock from the Lot-O this morning. They had got pretty shiny but the undercutting on almost all of them was pretty bad and it was a total pain to scrub the white batter remains out of all the nooks an crannys. Easiest way I have found to get the polish out of my tumbles is to add a few drops of dawn dishsoap and about a 1/4 inch of water in the Lot-O cap to the barrel, let it run for 30 minutes and then add about a cup of water and another few drops of dawn n let run until whenever you get back to it and then just rinse well. Works great for me to do it that way.

I think 1nickthegreek has a machine from the company that catmandewe suggested. Correct, I AM a dealer/distributor for the company, just let me know if you need info please. I am very happy with my machine, it is VERY well built and solid as can be, only thing I am going to change is I am mounting some LED lighting so as to see when grinding up under that lip LOL

that's sad.( about the new member) Looks like a nice buck. Very efficient of him. Gonna make some jerky? Probably beer sticks and steak. I suspect that a beautiful gal I work with is going to ask for some. Since she has almost no money, I will let her have as much as she wants.I would never have a thing to eat if it werent for the wild game that I receive from close friends each year, Good on ya for taking care of people. I havent harvested anything this year, so looking like a lean winter for me
