Nothing is more fun than washing and sorting a bucket of new slabs. Work in progress.

Here are some of the cabs I cut and polished from the rocks collected on this trip. I was not sure how the rock would look since I have not seen anyone else working on these type rocks. Very pleased with the results. Going to collect more of those prairie agates.

Here are a number of the bezel settings I have been making from the stones I slabed, cut, and polished. The color isn't quite right but you can see some of the work. Enjoy.

It looks very simple but has to be tough in execution. Wow I am impressed. Love it!!!

That is really interesting. That would make some very organic jewelry. Think I will try it.

fireforged , nah, I've graduated to wheels. I think my arm would fall off if I did those all by hand. Oh good!!!!! I was worried about that. I tried to imagine if you had any time to do other things.

Those look really good. Are you sure that you only polish by hand? Wow

Just got a shipment of chrysocolla from Jeff and it is every bit as good as it looks in the pictures. If you are in any way interested you should take this opportunity to buy. The rock is solid, mostly fracture free, and hard. Plus it has that beautiful blue/green color with a bit of red veining. Looks perfect for cabbing. I bought a lifetime supply and am glad I did.

Very pretty slabs. Have you managed to cab any yet? Looks to me like you could get a lot of cabs out of those slabs and not waste too much rock.

Yes this is a fun thread. Pat I think I said that it was far easier to just buy a spoon. Just think of all the invaluable experience you have gotten with this effort. Keep trying there has to be another way to skin this cat.

Pat There is nothing like hitting metal to improve your attitude. Just pound on some copper for a while and see what you make. Plan on repeating a few times. Experience is a good teacher.

I hope that some one attending the big show will post some pictures so that I can vicariously enjoy the nice weather and rocks in Quartzite.
