Acquired unlabeled rocks that resemble something I'd find in a pasture or my neighbor's backyard. Is my wife correct? Do I really have too much shit in my office?

ziggy , you are correct, but I was not. It was Rocky Mountain National Forest, not "Park." I make sure we obey the rules, which is not easy for my 10-year-old, but we absolutely respect those rules. We went to the Florissant Fossil Beds, and the pet wood was beautiful there, though it doesn't have the vivid colors (I learned due to the lack of iron content). We also went to Garden of the Gods, and there were SO MANY beautiful stones that were all over the place (due in large part to the fact that you cannot collect there). I do appreciate your restatement of the rules and reminder to not only me, but others. I told my kids the saying was, "take nothing home but a potential felony and minimum $500 fine." I have to serve as a role model to my kids, and I know you can't say one thing and do another and expect your children to grow up to be the people you hope them to be. =) Did you check out Florissant Fossil Quarry?

Hey Michael - Did you ever cut or tumble any of the stuff I sent you back in April? Just curious how it turned out.

Interesting post, what is the purpose of the "epoxy in the hole" Does the Lot-O not come ready to run? I get it that you have to secure it to something solid but I didn't know I would have to be playing with epoxy. What kind of epoxy does one need to use? Still thinking about buying one but want to be clear about everything before I do. There's an annoying dimple at the bottom of the barrel where grit, rock fragments and ceramic tumbling media get lodged. I don't know if it serves any function, but I didn't think to fill it with epoxy.

I've had good luck with amazonite, but apatite has been a failure for me. I can get it smooth with some shine, but there always a ton of cracks. Similar to my experiments with labradorite. Then again, I'm relatively new to tumbling.

The only reason I went with a Lot-O over a UV-10 was cost. I'd love to have a UV-10 for its increased capacity.

Psycho - Your pics suck, man! There are some really cool pieces in here that didn't show up clearly in the pictures. Great trader. Thanks Frank!

I find these in my landscaping rocks. This is what it looks like when tumbled. It's fairly soft; Similar to limestone perhaps. Doesn't get particularly shiny.

Neat bowling ball. I have a 12 pounder like that that works great on dry lanes.

Can you print it, if the addressee didnt send you money? In the past discounted payment was required. Yep. It's how I send frb's when I do trades.

You can save a buck or two if you have a PayPal account and a printer. 1. Get flat rate boxes from the post office. 2. Log into your PayPal account. 3. Go to this link to print your shipping label: www.paypal.com/shiplabel/create/ 4. Go here to request a free USPS package pick-up: tools.usps.com/go/ScheduleAPickupAction!input.action Shipping costs printing label through PayPal: SFRB $6.10 MFRB $11.95 LFRB $16.35 Shipping costs if you purchase at the Post Office: SFRB $6.80 MFRB $13.45 LFRB $18.75 It's a small savings, but can add up quickly if you ship a lot.
