I don't know, but damn if that doesn't look a lot like dead camel jasper! Good call! Mine is a little different than the Nevada stuff. The blue in mine seems different but thanks for the help!

Hello shattered! I recently ran into an old friend that I played 6th,7th n 8th grade football with n he grew up on a ranch his grandparents started and left a big rock pile that he said I could look through, I asked about where they're hounding sights may have been but he didn't know, so the closest I can say with confidence is it originated from Colorado Ryan Ryan I gotta go with fish on this one, there are some sellers on here that offer incredible material and incredible savings on said material. The material you have here has some potential but it may be better suited for eBay. Remember this forum has some of the best minds in lapidary ,jewelry design and general rockhounding . I have purchased from fish and Vegas James and traded with several others, these folks are so good if they told me the sky was agates, I would grab my rock hammer and start swinging. I would never try to discourage someone from making money, but each rock has a sales venue, they all are different in their own way. Hell even Etsy would be a great place to put a few boxes up for sale, may take a bit but sooner or later someone will want material to start their kids with or even Flint knapping. Just my opinion, hell I'm probably wrong just ask my wife lol. Good luck Frank Thank you for the advice! I've never sold stone or anything on the Internet so I greatly appreciate your help Ryan

Your shaping on the first tumble. Plastic will slow it down. Take your time in shaping. I have rocks that go for months in the first grind. I prefer ceramic after you are done shaping and ready to move forward. Dang Should have read your post. I just foolishly asked Ryan that question. Thanks Lady B. Mostly large ceramic? Where would you use the small if any where ? Very last like prepolish 1000?
I wouldn't know but Belinda is definitely a master!

Hello from Colorado! The first pic I think is schist maybe biotite,n the black pieces I'm not sure about but might be created by heat and pressure(maybe biotite)n the second pic is quartz and mica or muscovite. The third pic is quartz Ryan. No my bad the first I don't think polishes, quartz polishes well but can cracked easily and the mica in that piece will erode away if you tumble it and the third should polish well

KK Bro the big, beautiful boulder has arrived. Ken from D&D Rocks just left for a tour of the Black Canyon just outside city limits. Will get picts later of that boulder. 155 lbs of awesome. Build a tumbler around it bro. Its local.. to southern Oregon. . And a few hundred pounds of misc, opal rock, agates, etc. eff yeah buddy! That boulder sounds beast! N local? Thats cool can't wait to see it mang! not sure if a water heater would be big enough for it either ha, oh dude that weird quartz conglomerate stuff is thomsonite! I'm thinking it should be easy to sell either rough, tumbled, slabs or cabs n I told u I found that boulder field Ryan
