Hello!
my lortone won't spin with both barrels on it! If I put one barrel one it's fine, but once the second one goes on it stops.
The last several weeks it's been rolling with both but very slowly.
I have another 33B that is spinning perfectly.
Any ideas?

Hello!
Apologies if this is the wrong forum for this, please move it if so.
Not so much looking for rough, but holders, the little cardboard trays, small storage, loups, stands ect ect
Anyone have a good site they would recommend?

Rotary for course and then yes! Lot-0 I used about 50% ceramics in the lot o with them. Didn’t use anything in the course stage 1 day each 120, 500, 1000, 1500 with .5 tsp of appropriate grit and 1 tbsp borax Your success with these 4 steps of short intervals w/high media precent is similar to my findings with glass and obsidian. Not to mention fast rotary grinds for shaping. Because of the fast results glass and obsidian has become a pleasant short tumble. And motivated me to invest in the equipment to melt my own glass for tumbling. I tumbled agates for years and got burned out on 2-3 month cycle times. Taking a break doing glass. I agree with you, a nice shorter tumble was a nice change. I have sodalite that I will do in the spring as a change as well. Glass is interesting- are thy about a 5 mohs?

I would maybe get some more material (assuming that picture is everything?) to fill the barrel more and then load it with plastic pellets. I just did some Apache tears and I lost ALOT of the material in the first stage

I can tell by the silver sheen in your pics that you nailed the shine. Very nice. Two thumbs up! As to getting them more rounded my first thought would be use 80 grit or even 120/220 for the coarse grind. They will both round obsidian & tears but remove less material. Thank you! Didn’t think of starting off with 120 but it makes sense to try that

Like your recipe. Like the results. Lot-O ? Type media ? Percent media ? Rotary for course and then yes! Lot-0 I used about 50% ceramics in the lot o with them. Didn’t use anything in the course stage

Thank you everyone! If anyone has tips on getting these round I’m all ears! (Eyes) Drummond Island Rocks what’s the typical recipe? I did Lower than I usually do as they were losing so much mass. The only thing I did normally was burnish them

great shine on these! This picture shows them dry- couldn't get them round but they started to get so small I took them to polish before they ground away 7 days 60-90 1 day each 120, 500, 1000, 1500 with .5 tsp of appropriate grit and 1 tbsp borax

Hey all! I bought a Thumler MP-1 for my son and I to share a hobby. He quickly lost interest, but I've continued tumbling. Same thing happened to me about a year and a half ago...except it was with a grandson...who has since lost interest. Now I have 4 rotary tumblers and a vibe, a bigger saw, a Foredom, a flex shaft and router table for my Dremel, spools of wrapping wire, a couple trays full of jewelry findings, vases full of polished "pebbles", 2 drawers full of polished pendant shapes, and about 150 lbs of rough rock waiting to be busted up or sliced. lol!
