Hauser and Miller is closing. Their site says they will take scrap for a limited time in 2021, not sure if they still are.

Hi Taylor, greetings from Vermont! You can also post questions. Lots and lots of info on here. What you have to do to be accepted on this forum is to send me lots of Montana sapphires. Just kidding!

Greetings from Vermont, where all the rocks are grey or green (I think!). It's been snowing here for 2 days. Just when you thought it was safe to go rock-hounding, everything is covered up again. I like cherts and crinoids too.

I'm thinking that the cataracts may slightly skew my color perception. Or maybe it's something with my cones. The car was grey to me.

I don't see the blue/green that you are talking about... but I have learned that I do not perceive blue or green the way most people do. I used to think that people were calling something "blue" or "green" when it was not were just doing it to annoy me. Also it has lead to considerable confusion at times, as in, Me: "I thought you said to meet you at a GREEN car! I've been looking for you for half an hour!" Her: "This IS a green car!"
Me: "I thought you said you were going to wear a green shirt." My mother: "Yes." Me: "Then why are you wearing a blue shirt?" My mother: "I'm not."
I definitely see blue and green -- I am wearing both colors right now -- but apparently I am missing something somewhere, as the above examples have happened repeatedly, in different situations. I may have the answer, finally. Recently I went to the eye doctor. I asked if I am developing cataracts (getting near that age). Dr. said, no, just the ones you were born with. What??? He explains that I have bilateral congenital cataracts, in fact the center sutures where they formed are distinct enough that, "If you lived in a big city they'd want you in all the time so the students could study you." Good news is, they are thin, unlikely to change, and do not have a significant impact on visual acuity. It was all such a surprise that I didn't think to ask about the green thing, so that is just my guess. Or there could be some other eye weirdness I have.
Long explanation.

Does look like granite to me. Blame the glaciers for leaving stuff everywhere. I always do.

One hundred thousand years is a blink of an eye in evolutionary time. Lately I've been pondering the concept of beauty in the human psyche and was thinking it was unique to the human species... till I remembered seeing "objects de arte" in packrat middens and some bower birds are well known to collect beautiful items. New Compelling Evidence Suggests Humans Descended from Small Rodents

Congrats! Wow, I didn't know you were part of a beer company. I haven't had a beer since Feb. of 2015, when I was diagnosed with celiac disease. I had to give away my beer collection. Sad. I used to really enjoy trying different brews. Best wishes on your new venture!
