I started with the 'standard' recipe, which I'm sure you are about to get in detail here...and is great for anyone learning to use the Lot-O. Since then, I have adopted a more simplistic approach, which has given me the same results as with the standard recipe I started with. I now go into the Lot-O with AO 220 and leave it alone for 4-5 days, then a couple days in polish. It's the same amount of time overall, but with much less hassle cleaning out and changing grit. Also, I am now only buying Sic 46/70 as needed for my rotary tumblers. With 10 lbs of AO 220, a pound of polish and the amount of each used by the Lot-O, I shouldn't have to buy those again for a long, long time. I haven't posted pics in quite a while, but I'll try to do that this weekend and let you be the judge on finish quality. ETA: I knew that recipe would be up before I got done typing. Can you share where you can buy 220 AO? I would like to try your method. Thanks.

They look terrific! There is definitely something special about those stones! I've only tumbled one. LOL! Someday, I either collect or find a good source to do a nice batch.

Very nice! Not sure about number 1,2 and 5 but the others are for sure! 3 and 4 look like a form of palm in my opinion. I have some others similar to what you have there as well but can't say where they originated from cause I got mine from a small collection.

I entered and received my rocks when it was first posted. Getting close to some better temps in the garage to shape them up and start rolling! The material reminds me of Kona Dolomite.

As this hobby grows for me, I'm looking to purchase a saw that would accomplish two things if at all possible. A saw that can trim slabs to a cab shape, so I can continue it on the wheels and cut Lake Superior Agate nodules or similar in half.
Is there a saw that can accomplish this? Or, do I need to invest in a trim saw and a slab saw? I'm doing this only as a hobby.
Right now I was looking at the Highland Park Model 12 Slab saw for $2000.
Any advice is appreciated.
