spiceman No, that's mostly from a private quarry, owned by a knapper named Roy. Mom said the exact same thing, MrMike

Here's a link to the imgur post with a little more info. Also, I managed to carry out about 117 pounds of material, so almost enough to go around! Please don't commit to negotiating a trade just yet, let me get pictures of everything laid out uploaded first so you can get a good idea of the general quality. Edit: Oh right, that link... imgur.com/gallery/jfXMB

I'm happy with how my Mozambique Agates are turning out, but they have deep pitting on one side. Should I toss them back into coarse grit or give up and just move on? Is it just the material?

Thanks as always for the input. I'm holding off on restarting one of my tumblers until I can go through some of my rough material and maybe work on pre-shaping some first. Just have to find the time now...

It's hard being patient, but it gives you something to be proud of when you finish (I hope ROFL)

Wow! Those are REALLY impressive. If I get into stuff of that quality, I'll rent a room and dig for a full two days!

You'll all be happy to hear that I stopped at Home Depot on the way home from work and bought 2x five gallon buckets, a six gallon bucket and a 12 gallon heavy duty tote. Maybe I'm a little better prepared now, short of that dump truck... LOL

ROFL! I've already packed most of the tools, I have a rockhound hammer on the way and gloves aplenty! Packing a 3.5 foot pry bar, sledgehammer, trowel, pick and a few other odds and ends. Only one bucket, but seeing the reaction here, I might have to rent a dump truck... 😅Depending on the quality of course... LOL

Between gmitch telling me it's a hard one to chisel and your solid advise, I think I will leave it, it's a fairly small piece as is and my tumblers seem to gobble it up really quickly (I blame the harder, jealous rocks)!

I've read that a few times now @shotgunner and coloradocliff. Lots of great info there!

Thanks for all the interest! Pictures will be presented and I'm picky with pretty much everything. I might pick up some of the boring rocks, but I'm hoping for colors!
Thanks for the advise too! I've been reading and googling for a couple of weeks now, just hoping to get lucky with where I start digging and hit into some rich material.

I'm planning to make a trip to Nether's Farm this Saturday to dig for Flint. I was planning on getting around 5 pounds or so, but it occurred to me that maybe some of you all might like some, either buy or trade (I'd prefer to trade). If you're interested one way or another, please let me know so I can get a rough (hehe, pun intended) idea of how much I'll need to get.
Thanks, Luminin

I will try to remove it tonight. I don't mind it, but it's...awkward. I appreciate the feedback, keep it coming! Would a chisel be best, or should I try to cut it off with a dremel? I have a tile saw, but it's large and clunky.

I know shape is the goal here, and it's more of what you as an individual want them to look like, but... What are some of the standards you all have when deciding if a stone is ready, or not, for stage 2? Here's why I'm asking. Should I leave this be, or toss it back into coarse grit until it's rounded away? Why or why not?
