That's a lot of money, about $60 extra round trip! Well, as we've done previously if 3 members, that qualify to participate, will vouch for you, you're in! Can I count you as the first, fernwood?

I'm intrigued, we'd have to figure out postage. Also, verification of who they are would be important. Not so much who they say they are, but that they're trustworthy. We do have those minimum number of posts and time here as rules for that very reason.
I'm game, baring we could work through those issues. Worst case, maybe not this round...

Sorry I haven't been active, work work! If you'd like to do that, that'd be great Tommy! I'd like to have this shipped in about 3 weeks (Monday Dec. 3rd). So we'll continue to take names for 2 and a half weeks (Friday Nov. 30th). I'm sure it'll be slow going what with Thanksgiving and then Christmas and then the New Year. But a rockin' box has got to roll! 😉

ya no but if you wanted to route it to me i would gladley put stuff in Well, we're probably overstuffed as is. Your halfway there with that offer though, why not just join? 😉 We ended up with a large flat rate box by then end of the last round, trying to avoid that.

I’d love to do this but I can only offer tumbles for additions to the box. I don’t have a slab saw etc. Is this allowable? I can throw in good rough as well. That's absolutely fine! There more the merrier! I only tumble, so I had to rely on donations to get any slabs for the last round, my first time organizing it.

I've got the material picked out, now I just need to squeeze it into a MFRB... Sooo close! MsAli You'll have to take a bit extra out, I figured you wouldn't mind.

Thank you for your interest in participating in the 11th round of the Traveling Rock Box!
Please take a moment and read through the following rules, if any of these rules are broken, you may be banned from future Traveling Rock Boxes. If you feel you may have an issue with any of the rules or have a question, please message me.
BEING IGNORANT OF THE RULES DOES NOT MAKE YOU IMMUNE TO THE CONSEQUENCES.
1) Members that wish to participate must have at least 50 posts and have been members of the forum for at least 3 months, less of either and they'll need at least 3 qualified members to vouch for them.
2) A minimum of 5 people (not including myself) and a maximum of 15 per round.
3) If you are going to be traveling or otherwise busy when your turn comes, please let me know here so we can move you down the list.
I'm aware that we have several major holidays approaching and will take this into consideration. I don't expect someone to rush out the day before Christmas or in the middle of Thanksgiving Dinner to mail off a box of rocks!
4) Each member must post how much and, if labeled, of what they've taken from the box here. Further, if you know what a material that you've added is, please label it as best you can.
A piece of tape on the rock, writing on the baggie or on the cardboard it is secured to makes this a lot more educational for those of us who aren't familiar with many materials. If something is unlabeled and you are positive on its ID, please label it!
Pictures are greatly appreciated, give us something to drool over while we wait!
5) This is not an appropriate place to swap good for bad. Please DO NOT DUMP YOUR DUDS HERE.
6) Please try to add an equal quantity to that of which you take. Don't be greedy, but also don't stuff the box so full that we'll have to worry about switching to a LFRB and thus cost members more than they expected.
Too much of even a good thing, is still too much!
7) Please don't take all of a material. If, for example, there are two chunks of Lapis Lazuli rough, feel free to take one, but leave the other for another member. If there is only one piece, feel free to claim it.
8) Once you've finished swapping, please CAREFULLY pack the materials into a new MFRB, use plenty of tape and get it mailed off to the next member quickly. You remember what it was like waiting?
9) Each member will pay the postage to send the box to the next waiting member, the box will be a Medium Flat Rate Box, so it will cost $13.60 to ship. This will include a free tracking number which can be found on the receipt. Please send that to the member that you addressed it to.
If you feel you are able to hold to all the above rules and would like to participate, please MESSAGE ME Your Name and Address, please DO NOT post it here as it'll be more organized if I edit the post containing the participants information. If you sign up, only your Username will be listed here, if you have any issues with this please let me know in the message. I'll keep all of your personal information stored locally, securely.
After the signup period closes, I will send everyone the information of the member that they are supposed to mail the box to when they've finished. I will do so again when they receive the box and if the order changes for any reason. Once the box is received, I will delete the recipients information for both security and efficiency.
If the list fills for this round (15 members), anyone that wishes to join will automatically rollover to the next round. When the time comes, I will contact you and verify that you would still like to participate.
If you're curious to see how the previous round went, go take a peak! forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/80890/woodward-memorial-rock-traveling-round
Thanks, everyone! Now, let's rock!

I'm still around, no overtime in October! I'll try to get the next box post up this weekend so we're ready to ship come October. Sorry I've been M.I.A!

Sorry for the delay everyone! I'm working a ton of overtime right now, but I took the time today to go through everything and choose what I wanted. I'm not keeping much, only 13 pieces total, literally one handful!
The Cedar City agates, apparently I love them... Over half of what I'm keeping from the box is Cedar City, 7 pieces of the ~15. I've also chosen to take two pieces of the Holt Canyon. A piece of rose quartz. And finally, for specimen samples, a small slab of Indian Blanket and a tiny piece of Tiffany that's almost half the size of my thumb. It's labeled Tiffany, but I'm not sure, it's a light purple. And can't forget the piece of Peanut Obsidian I fell in love with!
I'm hopping to start packing the next Traveling Rock Box within the next few weeks, so that means that I'll be starting a new thread with the rules and asking for names!
Sorry it's taking me so long, we'll get the next box moving hopefully before October!

Haven't gotten to it, I'm being forced back to day shift next week so I'm afraid it may be a while before I sort through everything.

I haven't heard back from TByrd, so when I get home from vacation I'll be sorting through the box, building starter for the next round and such. It'll be a couple weeks, sorry for the delay!
