nope....no cabojohn at all...i wouldnt even think of that style....thats sands deal ;D....whats hard to see is there is 2 angles...i dont take good pics.....i need to get 1 from the side ;D.
the side angles are the same as the bottom angles....why the sides wont take a polish....i dont know...i did nothing no diff.
i only dusted the face....i was to concerned about not getting a polish on the sides of the stone....i kinda forgot about the face of it ;D.
the pits should come out easily....just dont know if i can shine it up ;D
adrian....i will try to find the link to my machine i was building.....i finally used the darn thing ;D....kev.

finally found a little time to try out my little homemade cabbing machine...still havent got the water system on it yet...so it was grind a second and dip the stone....and throw water on the wheels....these wheels are worn and giving to me by another. this is my first attempt at a cab...and doing it by hand...so keep that in mind. ;D heres the problem....it might not look like it in the pic...but the bottom bevel and the very bottom of the jasper is all that will actually take a good wet shine...the rest of the peice is a little shiney...but nothing like the bottom bevel at all...its a major difference between them. i have backed up the stages 3 times trying to get the rest of the stone to shine like the bottom....no go. i still have a couple of pits to work out of the face of it...i wasnt going to put much more in it if i cant make the shine match...ive spent 3 durn hours on the thing already ;D....any ideas...kev. click

john it is very interesting...i have never seen a piece of obsidian around here either....but i have since been told it has been found before around here.
a friend that has been gathering up pieces such as this for probably 30 years took a look at these the other night....here is his thoughts ;D
the arrowhead isnt an arrowhead at all....its is most likely the end of a type of knife because it is 1 1/4 long with the tip missing...and over 3/4 inches wide....just to big to be an arrowhead....and it is not symetrical at all....he said the deer would have had to run in a circle for anyone to be able to hit it with that piece on the end of an arrow...hahahahaha.
and agrees with everyone else about the 2nd one.. 100 percent it is a scrapper...probably for scraping reeds and such...but anyway...we gonna get back there as soon as possible and hopefully find some other stuff...kev.
