velodromed You need one of those double Lot-Os and I need one of those high speed Rebel 17s like you got! I still polish stuff in my 3lb rotaries - I like it better for some material. Yes that would be so nice!! I also use my 3 pounders for polishing rocks that won’t fit in the vibe. But it drives me nuts because then I can’t use them for course runs with smaller agates. But I’m not buying any more new machines. I’ve learned enough to where I will be looking out for used ones that I can repair and eventually build my own six barrel Tumbler setup. Same thing I did with RC cars. After two years, I stopped buying new and just begin custom building them. That's a sweet idea! Make sure you post your builds!

Well of course, it’s way more fun sharing. I’ll probably be needing some advice also lol

dillonfThanks! They are my babies lol. The only road car I built (teal pick up) does 80+mph. The others average between 45-55 but are mainly built to rip up the dirt and jump as high as 20’ up. The constant maintenance and repairs can get a bit ridiculous with the way I drive them, but that’s also a big part of my stress relief. It’s hard to fret when working with hands and mind.

Wow that's impressive! I didn't know those cars went so fast, or jumped so high! Glad it is something that gives you peace.

The current record for RC car speed is around 215mph. The current record height for a jump is nearly 80 feet up. It’s pretty ridiculous. But yes, it is a major stress reliever for me. So are rocks, just in a different way.

The first time I ordered them I was a bit confused by receiving these. Now I see why everybody gets a huge kick out of it!

It makes me feel lots better knowing I'm not the only one spending too much on rocks.

Sorry to hear you got slammed again. Hang in there...hope you feel better quickly. That was not fun. Slept 36+ hours and started feeling better around 4 AM this morning. When the kid got home from visiting her father, I tried make up for her not being here the last two months and we went a bit crazy doing stuff. I pushed it just a bit too far and my neuropathy melted down. Should be back to my version of normal in a week or so.

Here’s what I got from the Rock Shed. I didn’t bother taking pictures of the bags of grit. I haven’t opened the rock bags yet either. The bots look especially amazing and I see several pink ones in there and possibly a blue one. I still need to be careful and if I open them, I’ll want to start working on them. I have another box coming in from Richardson ranch and hoping it gets here this week. That will be a big one, 25 pounds of rock!! My next order will be from that really interesting KinesavaRocks.com place. I spent time going through his website, reading the story about his dad. Really cool and I’m curious to see what they have. But that will be in October probably. I blew my monthly rock budget for the next couple months lol.

The box from Richardson Ranch will be here tomorrow! I must say they were extremely pleasant to deal with. The most difficult part was having to place the order by email and then call in to pay, rather than doing it online… which was irritating because we’re spoiled but at the same time, so very old-school refreshing. This will be my last order for a while. We have to move by the end of the year. Blah.

I look forward to seeing the RIchardson's pictures. I love it there. There are peacocks on-site btw, it's a loud call but pretty neat overall. The selection is extensive. I've dug so very many thundereggs there and am sad that era ended. I always loved the drive to the beds as the scenery was really grand.

Its funny that everywhere I’ve lived between Texas and California, there are peacocks somewhere nearby. At the kid and my favorite rock yard, they have several peacocks and she got to hear them call for the first time recently. She freaked out and I asked here ‘what’s wrong?’. ‘That noise!! It’s scary!’. ‘Oh, those are just peacocks, let’s go find them’. it was great lol. That place does sound amazing. I’m glad I heard about it on this forum.

Hmmm…someone wanted to see the graveyard pointe agate but I can’t remember who. Maybe jasoninsd or dillonf … Well, here it is! I sprayed it down first. Oh, one of these sent me into a coughing fit. It was when I was opening the thunder eggs and graveyard point. My throat and nose still itch, so I think I’ll flush my sinuses out now. Man, I coughed hard enough to strain a back muscle which sucks. I’ll feel it for weeks. I’ll wear a mask before messing with them again. I also bit off more then I can handle with the grave yard point. Too big to tumble and for my saw, ugh. I’ll break up the Sarape Jasper with a hammer, it feels tough. The graveyard pt feels like it would shatter though. Sarape Jasper (wow!!) Black Skin Agate Rainbow Agate I also got 5lbs of Blue Bell Thunder Eggs but didn’t get a picture yet.

Oh wow, these blue bell…or blue bed…blue balls?…stupid Priday? thunder eggs look very nice! Small enough to cut on my 7” saw and I’ll probably try tumbling a couple small ones whole. Maybe throw one against the wall while eating blue bell ice cream.
