I love this forum... yeah, plus I like the looks and conversations we get from the mail ladies at our small town post office up the road. They find it hilarious that we mail so many boxes of rocks Once I get settled it’ll be time to do more trades lol

Lol, my mailman still likes me, but I’m beginning to see that look from my husband. “More rocks?! You have ‘tons’ of rocks, why do you need more?” Amateur. LOL

I’m so excited! I haven’t had a box arrive in a while, and my mostly SiC grit order from the Rockshed should be here tomorrow. I actually let myself run out of course grit I did that thing where I emptied a 10lb box, and without thinking, put the box back in its spot. So when I went to get my last box of grit, it was empty. No big deal, I still have about 8 pounds of 60 AO, so threw a cup of that into the rebel and am letting it run while I’m waiting for my order. Actually I’ll let it run for a full nine days. I have not found the AO has the grinding action of silicon carbide, but it sure leaves the rocks extremely smooth, almost pre-polished. So I think my next experiment with it will be to fill the rebel with rocks on their last course run and let it go 10 to 12 days. Meanwhile, I’ve got 10lbs of 36 SiC, 10lbs of 46/70 and 5lbs of 60/90 on the way. I also got a pound each of Mookite, Sardonex and coquina Jasper. That should keep me going for the next few months. Next time I’m just going to get a 25 or 50 pound load of 36 SiC, or 46/70. I still experimenting with them and to see which works best for me. I also need to research a better place to order bulk. I need to reduce the cost of the hobby a bit this year, and most of the cost is in the grit right now.
