Yes, Yes, you guys are putting up a good fight. This is turning out to be a good one.
Wycked - I really love the coloration in your home. Nice warm feel to it. The green chair is quite the eye-catcher.

Here are a few shots taken this summer. I'll have to look through the rest and see what else I can come up with. This one was taken near Pebble Beach along 17 Mile drive in May. We were just looking for "stuff" for the tumbler and started playing with the camera. This one was the Point Arena lighthouse. I think thats the right name. Anyway, Was taken at the beginning of August. Was a beautiful day, didn't find many rocks but had a great time This one doesn't really qualify for the contest. But it was taken in June near Spencer, Idaho. Found lots of obsidian that trip but we were way too busy with the cattle to get to stop in for the opals. Which kills me cuz we rode right through Spencer.

BOYS WILL BE BOYS Took my two boys and pals for a three mile hike just south of Mt. Shuksan in NW WA. Found our first piece of petrified wood that day. Two of the boys went skivvie dippin, yee haw! Explored some caves as well. Li'l Richy (age 5) has tossed a you-know-what into the air, and the others are resting on a big you-know-what. 'Twas a splendid sunny day, and a good time was had by all. Here are a couple taken on my most recent fishing trip to Wyoming Big German Brown Trout Brown Trout Head A cool, frosty spiderweb. I'm guessing I missed having the whole web enveloped in frost by only a few minutes. Gaeter

More pictures of another fishing trip this past weekend... Sunrise along the streambank....no cool spiderwebs this trip however.. Another sunrise shot. You can see some webs, but not like the elaborate ones I found a few weeks ago Here's a mule deer standing in the pasture watching me open the gate. Her fawn jumped up shortly after the shot. I liked this one because of the foggy skies and icy grass Another wild, Wyoming German Brown trout.... Going hunting this weekend. I'm sure I'll have more shots then. Keep them tumblers going!!!! gaetz

An ore freighter northbound on Lake Michigan. We were on a charter fishing trip and the fishing was as good as the sunset on this day!

Coral Gables Venetian Pool Perhaps the only swimming pool anywhere to be included in the National Register of Historic Places. Certainly it is the only swimming pool of its kind with its vine-covered loggias, shady porticos, spanish fountain, three-story observation towers and cascading waterfalls that spill into a free-form lagoon complete with coral rock caves and palm-fringed island. Fed by underground artesian wells, Venetian Pool was once a quarry pit, its only value being limestone it produced for the construction of that time. Rock quarry in Miami turrned into a swimming pool. spring break 2006. I chose this because it was a rock quarry and I thought it would be prevalent to this message board. It was made in 1921 Official website www.venetianpool.com/Gallery/Gallery.html

We have a plethora of old adobe churches. Beautiful fall colors along the Rio Grande. Many roadside memorials, an old Hispanic tradition. :)S

Susan - Not too many churches back east surrounded by barbed wire. So why am I thinkin' about the radical right now?
Nice pic, though. And the cross against all that expanse really captures a mood. Almost looks like a piece of turquoise on the ground.

Since the contest is going to end on Oct. 31, here is one that fits that theme. It was taken last year when my son Christian was 2 yrs old. It was his first time trick-or-treating. Can't tell if he is happy or sad.

Gaetz - Just went back and read the rules on page 1, to see how this would work. I don't envy you one bit having to whittle down this field. Good luck.
