Dang Sheri! My shop looks like someone took yours and threw in a grenade. Such neatness, I'm afraid, is beyond my capabilities *L*....Mel

That's squeaky clean, Sheri!!! LOL. I showed my mess in the other post, but now, after a couple days worth of work, it's looking much better - just needs organizing. Still need to build a bigger shop!!! Before.... After....still need to clean up the saw.....

OK here are mine. No laughing now!...Mel Mel's Rockshop . I got chased out of the garage *L*. The beast, my ancient first edition Highland Park slab saw: The work benches. Minus my cabbing rig which is upstairs in my sword room. Slab storage bins, floor to ceiling: More shelves and a bunch of tumbling rough all sorted and ready to go:

Sheri: Actually that's not a welding mask. it's just a plexi face shield I use while cracking up tumbling stuff with the hammer or using the Workforce....Mel

Neat pictures and exciting work areas all of you have posted. We don't have a workspace yet but it looks like we should get started on one.
Mel, where can you get the face shield? I have trouble wearing goggles and I'm thinking the shield might work better for me.

here are some photos of my rock workshop..it is 40' x 60' with lots of room for storing rocks, I now have two wet saws set up and running and only 2 tumblers going as my CE tumbler with the lortone motor burned out again.so i am only able to tumble 48 lbs of rocks at a time now. Oh well...lol My shop area I love the shop since I have my stereo , TV Dart board and other toys set up in it. PLus it is nice Because BETTY leaves me alone in there for hours at a time....I think she is afraid I will slab her hands up if she comes in there when I am tinkering on my rocks...LOL. I can honestly say that I am super lucky to have found this place when we moved as it has everything we ever wanted in a place, a 60' x 120' heated and air conditioned shop/ barn. with inside dog kennels and seperate outside heated dog kennels my seperate blacksmith shop set up , my wood working area set up, my welding area set up with 3 deep sinks, 2 water heaters, 1 toilet..the only thing I am missing is a couch, a bed and a shower. I even have washer dryer hook ups in there. Betty ever kicks me out of the house and I will build a shower and live in my barn..HA HA HA. It kind of sucks that the barn is bigger than the house...HA HA HA, but it nice for me. enjoy y'all Steve

Lady B: Got the face shield at our local True Value Hardware.
Horseinaround: Oh my god I want your shop. That's huge! I could have all my rocks inside and move them around with a forklift. Man, that's a good one!.....mel

Sheri, What can I say....that has not been said. I need some of those bins!!!
dtc, You worked hard, we will have to post this thread bi-annually so you will have a reason to clean it up! LOL
Mel, I love that outside shed. Very personal. I need those shelves
Man Steve, That is big and nice!!! 9' ceilings??
Stefan, Your place looks like my old one, cozy and very workable, but I did not have as nice a chair. We just moved in April and now I have a big basement. Will post pics in a day or two! john

This is cool to see where everyone works their magic on all those rocks. It has given me some ideas as to what I want to incorporate into my shop, if I ever have the chance to build it.
Mel - I like the idea of the shed and had thought about going this route also. But, for about the same cost of materials, it is about the same size as the room I was thinking of adding to the deck and garage. How big is yours?
Steve - I, along with everyone else, would kill to have a shop that big!!! The house next door to us was for sale the same time we bought ours and it has 6 car, 4 room garage(not as big as yours), and a basement, and I wish now we had bought it instead. That was before the rock bug took over...LOL.
Stefan - I like the grinder set-up on the old desk. We have a couple of old computer desks that I was thinking of using for the same thing - it's easier than trying to stand at a bench for an hour or so working!

I vote we all move in with Steve!! LOL Hey Stefan, wacha got in that there aquarium looking thing? It kinda looks like there is a head of a lizard in the first shot!
Oh, and I love Mel's sign! I am going to woodburn one that says "The Hobbit Hut"! I will post pics when I get it done!
