Yeah, that is a major YUCK. Used to love seeing it when I was younger - like 50 years ago, but now the only snow I want to see is on a Christmas card. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

We had a thunderstorm last night, it poured buckets. Our power went out for a little over an hour about four this morning, then I woke up to this. Been listening to the scanner, people need to learn to drive again *sigh* cars in the ditches all over. My neighbor says that when you have a thunder storm this late in the year, it's going to be an easy winter. I sure hope she's right! To me, this seems like a bad start to it.

crud. i suppose that means it's headed our way. i'm not ready. today we are supposed to have near record highs...i suppose i'd better turn off the grinder and get out of the basement and go enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.
thanks for the warning, Cher!

That's what it is KD. We had a record high 2 days ago ... go figure. I'm sorry to be the bearer of such BAD news, maybe it'll fizzle out or go further south or something? At any rate, yes .... enjoy the sun while you can!!

Whats all that white stuff??? We hardly get any in Manchester and it usually is a scattering one afternoon and gone the next. It just rains all the time instead. On the rare occasions we do get it bad the country seems to grind to a halt. Must get old after a while though. Keep warm Cher

it gets old real quick, Rose. like Drupe, at this point in my life it's only pretty in pictures. it gets old after the first few feet and then it gets right down depressing for the next 5 months.
but it's a trade off, i guess. we don't get hurricanes. and it does keep the mosquitos and other pesky bugs away for most of that time. and the bright side is, i don't have to mow the grass.
haha....(laughs while she still has a sense of humor),

I'm sure. We will be applying for Canada immigration in December, when we get out there I'm know I'm going to find the winters hard going!

Cher, If I woke up to that - I'd run outside and build a huge snowman. Snow - I like that - it makes life a challenge I reckon. Rose may know a pass called "Jacobs Ladder" - it goes over the top of Kinder Scout from East to West (Edale). We used (years ago but Id do it again) to carry our bikes up Jacobs Ladder in minus 10 and a blinding blizzard - then sit it out in a mountain rescue shelter on top whilst we warmed up - then dropped down to Hayfield on the west side. Snow - I luv it

I think it's purrrrdeee.... but that's coming from a photographer's point of view.
Try to see the beauty in everything even if it seems depressing.

I don't even wait for the first few feet, it gets downright depressing after the first few inches. The older I get, the more I hate it! I'd rather be mowing anyday, at least you know you could have the windows open and listen to the birds and have flowers blooming after a thunderstorm. Arrggghhh I'm hybernating for the next 6 months, see you next April. Mark, I loved the snow when I was a kid, grew up skating and playing hockey, snowmobiling and building snow forts. Snow is for kids not old people ... at least not this old antique. ;D (cant' spell either on snowy days)

No snow up here in Montreal yet. not even a flake. Usually our first "snow that stays" is on X-mas eve (with the exception of last year)

Reminds me of home. The first snows would come about the second week in July. I will take that to hurricanes any day. You can dress for the cold, the aftermath of an hurricane is miserable.

Well, you need a good reason to stay inside and work on rocks. Right?

WOW would love to see some of that down here. It was another day in the 80s here, lots of sun, took the doggies on a nice two hour walk and they played with my saw till dark - all in shorts and a T-shirt.
oh well, maybe it will get cooler in a year or two.

Robert, you should go up and visit Cher. I'm sure she'd welcome the company, especially someone with a shovel in one hand, and a few rocks to slab in the other

It is such a rarity for us that I get real excited over it. Somebody's getting a snowball in the head just as soon as I can make one. We hope every year we're going to get at least one snow but it has been 5 years. Maybe this year!

I'd take it in a heartbeat. Hell, I'd take any season besides summer. The weather guy keeps saying a cold front is coming--that means temps in the 70s. Woo hoo. We did get snow on Christmas Eve last year, which was a huge treat for young and old. Not much chance of that happening again.
Nope, for us, its 10 months of heat and two months of rain. And, did I mention no hills, outside of freeway ramps? Topography and seasons--I'd trade my rocks and tumblers for them. Of course, I'd just buy more.
