You are in my prayers. I passed the info on to family and friends for their prayers also. Keep us posted, stay positive and remember stressing over this will only do you more harm.

Most people find out they have something by accident. I have had liver problems for over a year now...it has been a watch and see thing with all the lab work....this time..the doc said..enough..so she is sending me to see a different doc and they will do a biopsy. I try very hard to keep up with what is going on with my system....have regular visits to my doctor and try to follow instructions as best as I can. I also do a lot of research when something is spotted or suspected....the more I know the better I am able to assist the doctor in getting things corrected. I strongly encourage everyone to visit with their doctor at least once a year and ASK QUESTIONS!!!!!

Cher: Keep the faith and The Man upstairs will do the rest. Especially when He takes note of all the special prayers that are on their way to Him on your behalf. Health and Happiness is the gift I ask for you. God bless. Pete

Everything Pho said is exactly right. My cancer was discovered more or less by accident. I had no symptoms directly related to it, and if I had waited until there were symptoms, then it may have been too late to do much about it. Get regular checkups and don't refuse any tests a doctor might want to do!

Thank you everyone so much for your support and good wishes. Monday was my pre-op checkup, they decided they needed an ultrasound on my throat so got that done Tuesday. Today (Wed) was the biopsy and tomorrow they are doing an MRI on my throat. Apparently they didn't feel the ultrasound was good enough.
The biopsy took about an hour, wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I'm hoping for news on Friday but it probably won't be until next Monday. For some reason, I don't really care because I'm just not worried about it at all. Must be all the postitive prayers and thoughts from my friends.

That's great news Cher! Think about how many things you worry about come true? None if any. The key is believing! You have things yet undone in this life. It is not your time for negative things!

*sigh* I just talked to my doctor and am in hold with a hurry up and wait situation because of the holidays. The MRI they did this morning on my neck was to rule out any cysts or anything and find out if it was actually the lymph glands that are swollen. The answer ... yes it's the lymph glands. He (my doc) asked about the biopsy and was told they (the radiologist) sent it out to be diagnosed. So, it either went to the University of MN or to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, not sure which but I won't get an answer until next Tuesday.
Between the CT Scans and the MRI it's clear that there's something causing my lymph glands to swell which could possibly mean lymphoma but if it has to be cancer, that's a good one because it's one of the easiest to cure. Anyway, we await the results of the biopsy on the tumor, if it comes back benign (pray that it is) they'll biopsy the ones in my neck. I'm feeling a bit like a pin cushion already, guess I'd best get prepared for more.
So, call me Shultzy till Tuesday cause basically "I know nuttin."

I'm praying for a Christmas Miracle for you. I hope they find its just some nasty bug that they can zap with some antibiotics and that they stop sticking you, poking and prodding you.

Cher, I wish I could express what I am feeling. I will fall asleep tonight in prayer and thanksgiving. It is the the time of year when the old passes away and the new begins, life abundant. The shortest day and longest night have past. Hold fast to the light, the positive energy that surrounds us, the unconditional love. We are all there and we hold you tight. Our positive energy, in thoughts and prayers, are there for you. Feed on it and know you are loved. Blessed Be,

Cher, I'm sorry that they still haven't come up with an answer for you, as that only prolongs the worry. Obviously you are worried about the possibility of cancer, who wouldn't be? But try to keep in perspective that swollen lymph nodes occur for many reasons, and cancer is actually rather low on the list of possible causes. By FAR the most common cause is either a bacterial or a viral infection, and these typically persist for 2-4 weeks. So try to not dwell on the worst-case scenario, hopefully it's just a case of something more common and less serious.
