This has been real fun. Even though the author of this thread presented some hard views, and there were some hard responses, we are all still here. Mark, who almost never says anything really negative, joined in. That is where it is at. We are all still here. I bet everyone is thinking. That I believe was the point. I wonder, if Paul Revere was really listened to on his ride, I wonder if all the residents of this new land were excited at the prospect of getting their houses burned to the ground, their crops appropriated either by this side, or that side, their sons conscripted never to return. I have met liberals so liberal they hate everyone who is different. Not all, just some. I know rednecks who are so rednecky they hate everyone, period. I have met liberals that are truly informed, and speak with compassion, rednecks that really could be liberals. Our constitution does not guarantee the American language as the prime language. The new citizens I have met, and spoken to have all told me they fare better speaking our language than their own here. They just have an easier time getting established. That is the first thing my German neighbor shop keep told me when we have spoken about languages. I do work for a lot of senators. We have spoken a lot on things. People tell their jeweler everything. When one tells me, I just pass it off, when two tell me, I listen, kinda. When a bunch over a period of time tell me the same thing........ This has been a great thread. Yesterday, I had contractors working under my house. There was an 18yr old, a 46yr old who had an heart attack and has two stents. The 46yr old outworked the 18yr old who is waiting to go into military service to go into special forces. In my day, I was asked after basic training if I wanted to go, today, I guess they sign up before hand. That kid was tough, but the old fart with two stents, and myself with three fractures in my neck, two spinal fractures, artifical knee, two torn rotator cuffs, the old fart and myself worked this kid into the ground! I get worked into the ground by my neighbor who is 74. Something is changing. I guess we are all trying to keep up with it. It shall be interesting to watch. Oh yeah, Blarney, it is Gronk! not Grok. I was referring also to Farnhem's Freehold. It is all kinda fortyish. I also, still open doors for ladies, let them enter first, and I always use a person's salutation first in calling them. In a perfect world........

The guy on the far right looks like my neighbor! He does my tile work, and I repair his engines, and his jewelery. You wouldn't think so at first glance, but he will be the first one to help no matter what, when, or how long it takes. I did a wedding for his friend, and he even wore his teeth. That really made it a big occasion. I like him, he don care for notin as long as you do not trespass. He will give you anything as long as you ask. He sure did some darn good tileing! I like them boys. Blarney, Grok it is, it has been too long, perhaps I might enjoy his written words again. Grok, to partake, taste, to become within. Grok.

I haven’t read an insult yet on this board, outside of the good bad and ugly thread. I haven’t taken any and offer my gratitude for being able to read such wonderful and thoughtful response. I personally believe these rocks we cut to be our supreme being. They work with us and for us everyday, more than we can even scratch the surface of. I pay my respects daily when cutting.
I know that we are all good people, we just should not need an image of something taken that is never eternal to voice what it is to be proud of ones country, good or bad. an image will always change. What makes me proud is i know there are still many people like here in this board that are out there. What makes me proud is i can always talk with them, good or bad. So long as they talk.
Humor can never be more necessary in todays politics, woohoo for that cpdad.

Lith-
Sorry for missing your last posts over the past couple of days but I've been too busy researching our supposed landing on the moon, contrails and other "events". Even if you could prove our govt "caused" 9/11, I would still stand for the pledge and the anthem. In fact, I would stand taller and sing louder for all my fellow brothers/sisters who died and were betrayed. The Stars and Stripes and the Anthem don't solely stand for the Pres, House, Senate,....etc. etc. They too stand for the Cubs, Red Sox, Yellowstone National Park, McDonalds, Pepsi, EBay, Las Vegas, Dunkin' Donuts, IHOP, Harvard University, The Mayo Clinic, John Deere, Route 66, Levi's, apple pie, MTV, Hollywood, Jade Cove, Disneyland, The New Yorker, Sears and Roebuck, Grape Ne-Hi, Smithsonian, Elvis, JPL, NASA, Browning Arms, DB Cooper, Comstock Lode, Martin Luther King, Ford, tornado alley, Nike, the Minnesota Iron Range, the Mormon Pioneers, and the Green Bay Packers.
Our country is great. Our citizens are great. Our leaders can be great and some are great. We have a great heritage and great history and I love it. I love our country and it's citizens. In fact I love pretty much all countries and their citizens. I get the pleasure of working w/ people from all over the world every day and I feel it a pleasure to work with them. I don't think our downfall is just the current Administration. We've had some real beauties over the past few terms so it's not ALL Dubbya's fault.
God Bless America

Disrespect is for that which is not deserving of respect. If I've presented views in a disrespectful manner, well, then...
....well, then what?.... we can all go jump? Who are you to judge what is 'worthy' of respect?
A person who uses simple common sense. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You're sounding more and more like a misinformed, misguided, delusional hot head with no real substance to any of your 'reasons' for being disrespectful.
A classic response from a misinformed, misguided, delusional hot head with no real substance to any of their rantings. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'm not gonna let this one go either Rick

I don't think our downfall is just the current Administration. We've had some real beauties over the past few terms so it's not ALL Dubbya's fault. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Gaetz, You have really, really wrote some good stuff there, with some fantastic points. Our country today certainly has diverged in many bad ways from what the American forefathers went through Hell to create, but Man, all those things you say are true. This nation is SO much more than just an administration. All the sporting events, the various beautiful countrysides, the many cultures that have contributed. I admit, the anger and malcontent that I have been dwelling on has closed my eyes to the other side of the coin. It also stands to reason, then, that many of the good things the American forefathers went through Hell to create have survived. Other good points I've seen from others: >If there is an issue I wish to address, addressing it in the manner I have been is counterproductive. >Blarneystone was right. I am VERY hotheaded. There were many others that I cannot remember right now right off the top of my head. Okay. I'm still not ready to say the pledge of allegience and all that other stuff, but Gaetz, what you've wrote really has got me thinking and giving it some serious consideration. I've got to go now. I've got many apologies to post. First one goes to you. I am sorry and I apologize to you for my hotheadedness and ranting. I may still post some information on the 9/11 conspiracy theories, but not to be mean or cause trouble. It will just be some things for folks to look at. I ask that you all give me some things to read and consider that give the other side of the coin. I will read them and consider them.

Let me try this again... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Disrespect is for that which is not deserving of respect. If I've presented views in a disrespectful manner, well, then... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ....well, then what?.... we can all go jump? Who are you to judge what is 'worthy' of respect? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We both form our own ideas of what is and what is not worthy of respect. I disagree with you, but I don't hate you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You're sounding more and more like a misinformed, misguided, delusional hot head with no real substance to any of your 'reasons' for being disrespectful. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I am extremeley hotheaded and am quick to close my mind. I apologize for that and will try to do better. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'm not gonna let this one go either Rick. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ And you shouldn't. We have huge disagreements, and when one believes in something, they must stand up for it. You do well to fight so sternly for what you believe in.
As for the war, I surrender. You win. I have been disrespectful to you and many others. I am sorry and give you my sincerest apologies. Like I wrote to Gaetz, I may post a few bits of information regarding the 9/11 conspiracy theories, but no longer to stir up trouble. Take a look at it if you wish. I also welcome views and writings that will give me the other side of the coin; even writings that specifically are written to debunk the conspiracy theories. I will read and consider them.

Rick - Good Man. I think that we were all just trying to point out that there is much more to the situation(s) than meets the eye. I just kept picturing my Aunt and Uncle sitting there in the stands watching someone turn their back on the flag while their son, my cousin, is pulling a second tour in Iraq...that breaks my heart. Sounds like you're thinking about it in different terms now..have to applaud you for that! Sorry I called you a hothead! ...but i guess it takes one to know one huh? Truce? Detente? Collateral treaty? Can't we just all get along? The funny thing is that I too think that there are some conspiracies behind the scenes ..at the very least, a conspiracy of culture...and when we hear about something (illegal wiretapping for instance) it's merely the tip of the iceberg.... Have a good one Rick... Namaste..
