Howdy folks, We have a winner! Susan Nmrocks. yee haa!
OK, time for another contest. Let me introduce Mr. Snideley, the dragon with an attitude. Mr. Snideley is a "Slinker Dragon". Mr. Slinker is a famous local artist and fellow rockhound here in the Ojai area and is a fellow dragon fancier. I collected his pieces before they became too expensive for my budget. Anyway, the object of this contest is to steal Mr. Snideley's horde of about 30 small slabs and slabbettes of various California poppy jasper types. All the winner has to do is tumble them or shape them into cabs and he or she will have a whole suite of poppy jaspers. Mr. Snidely is not part of the prize and stays with me so he can accumulate another treasure. *S* Here's a pic of him and his treasure:
Now the game; Mr. Snidely, being a dragon of intellectual bent, has decided upon a game of "rockhound quartz gem jeopardy" to choose the winner. The game will contain thirty some odd groupings with a common denominator(s) to be answered in the form of a question. The proper answer will be the thing or things the materials, locations, type names, ways they form, etc have in common and should be answered in question form. I know, sounds hard but it's really not that bad and all the answers have been here on site or can be easily researched via the web. In a few cases the answer will involve you finding more than one thing the items or places have in common. Contest will run till Sept 20th or until the first person gets all the answers right. Please PM me with the answers unless you want everyone else knowing what you've guessed. Depending on how it's going, I may throw in a clue or two and if no one has answered all the questions by the 20th, person who posts first with the most correct wins. Thanks for playing....Mel
