...
OK, here goes ...
It's not a difficult contest, as basic as they get I guess.
All you have to do is guess the mileage. We'll make it more interesting for you as well, because there will be two prizes.
Prize one for the mileage and prize two for the time (in days.)
Most of you know Adrian65, many of you have met him also. I would like, at this point to publicly give Adrian my greatest thanks. He will be supplying the prizes for this competition. All will become apparent as you read on.
I have never met Adrian, well, not until yesterday that is.
This picture was taken in Adrians home - after I had had the chance to wash, shave and clean myself up.
Many months ago I asked Adrian if it would be OK for me to visit him. Of course he said yes, but I was keeping a secret from him - Sorry Adrian.
I was unable to tell Ariand nothing about my travel plans, nor anything about when I would be visiting. Basically it was because I did not know the details myself, plus I wanted to see the look of surprise on his face when I turned up knocking on his door.
This is the first image Adrian had of me. Again, I must apologise, because I was tired, dirty, sweaty and smelling quite aromatic at the time.
Notice the means of transport. Pah, the engine is old, decrepit and worn out, but apart from that it's as reliable as they get I guess.
Right, lets get down to the nitty gritty ...
To win one of the prizes you need to guess either of two things.
1. Guess the miles I had to ride, to get to Adrians home. Total miles from Calais in France to Bucharest in Romania.
2. How many days it took me, including rest days.
Adrian and I both have a picture of bike computer, which shows the miles.
I can give no clues in this competition, to give clues it will make it too simple and take away the fun.
What I will tell you is that I have had to cross two mountain ranges.
One of my hotels - it was late at night when I booked in. It was hot. I was tired, and I needed the rest.
Just my sleeping bag by the side of the road - the road was disused because a newer road had been built alongside the one I slept on.
