The cabin will need to be reserved soon if that's the intention. Jan will probably require the full rental in advance because of that one year that everyone backed out. I put down a $50 deposit and lost it. It's almost impossible to rent the cabin now unless the group is very organized and everyone pays upfront with no refunds for backing out. Also... remember that D&D will be in the 5th wheel and not at the cabin... I'm in! Would definitely prefer to rent the cabin... The  bathroom for the campground gives me the willies! Later, jeri ...and we didn't even tell you about the Black Widow that lives behind the toilet  lol.... I will be tenting if I go...  |

Hey Jeri, I need to edit the videos I took last year. Most are too long to post on Youtube, there is a 10 minute limit. I didn't have a video editor that would handle MP4 until recently. Windows 7 has a video editor that will do MP4s and I just installed it a week ago. I'll try to get some up there this weekend and will let you know.

I am so looking forward to this trip!!!!!!!!! It will be great to meet all the people I feel I already know, and I LOVE AGATES.
Thanks for the warning Jeri I will bring heavy duty bug spray.
I set up my tent late one night and it was invaded by ants yep you guessed it on a ant hill. ;D Donna

Hey Jo, If Don and I go we will be in our 5th wheel. The charges are 30.00 a night full hook up. That's it. Oh ya, one bathroom for every one. That includes day trippers and some times they have a line to get in.
No cell, no tv,no laundry,no heated pool, and no restaurants.Great rock hounds though. I hope this year we can have a fire. two years no fire.....

Here's a pic of the campground...  L to R: Don & Dorothy's 5th wheel, tents, RV's in storage (not part of the campground), Blarney's truck & red tent (probably should have been across the road), old house trailer that Jan said they were getting rid of, the house and rock shop. Usually when I rockhound in this area , I stay 18 miles north in Alpine. I have tried most of the hotels and my recommendation is the Highland Inn. It is about $55 per night after tax. It is spotlessy clean with new tile, new paint , furniture , etc. It is extremely clean and in great condition for the price. www.highlandinn.net/contact_us I also pulled into town late one evening and had to stay at the marriot for $130 for the night! I have seen that bathroom at the woodward and dont feel bad about spending the money to stay in town and just a few minutes away from mcdonalds and great mexican restuarants! |

Looks like the trip is shaping up! Hoping to see some new faces there next march.
I got started on the video editing but there is a lot of video to go through so i'm not finished yet. I'll work on 'em some more this week after work.

I want to go but it will take some major arm twisting and a minor miracle to make it happen the idiots I work with just voted to go on strike. If that happens I may have to sell the house and move my rock pile to moms house of course I could unload the rocks and pay off the house but that ain't going to happen. If I sell the house I can make the trip and get more rocks now that sounds better don't it.
