Don't care, I'm in Prudhoe. Not listing it so Jim doesn't get accosted like me.

Accosted because I asked you if you received the box? We have no way of knowing who has the box if you don't post. Geoff, I didn't say you had to post pix IMMEDIATELY, just whether you had the box or not. Other thing I asked for, at the very beginning, was that everyone post a tracking #, and since you didn't, we are forced to ask Jim if he got it or not. I guess that means that's 'accosting' Jim.
Further, while I completely understand that sometimes you cannot turn the box around for 48 hours, that was one of the rules too, and if it's going to take longer, that you'd let us know.
The point of this was to have fun, but with a bit of consideration for those who come after you. I have no idea why you feel that keeping us informed of the progress of the box was 'accosting' you, when after all, you saw the rules for it when you signed up. *scratching head*

Scratch your head all you want. People before me had the box for a week. You were messaging me 3HOURS after the mail man put it in my box. Also, like I told you in private, my bad for not realizing that SUNDAY was included in the 48 hours. You can keep micromanaging this abortion, I'm going to go back to enjoying my family. You want a tracking number? Try this: 0100011001110101011000110110101100100000011011110110011001100110

Mario and all others. I DO NOT HAVE THE BOX and I did not say I had the box so I do not know where that came from. Take another look Mario. I said that it may be here Friday but I was not sure. This is getting out of hand and I may just mail it on. Few of the rules have been followed way before it got to Geoff and I understand where he is coming from.
Today is Saturday and it may or may not come today. IF IT COMES I will let you know. I can not believe ya'll would think that I got it and just sat on it and did not tell anyone.
I went and checked and this was my last statement to Mario. (quote The way I figure it I should be getting the box today because I think (another memory lapse) Geoff mailed it on Monday.
I also checked to see when Geoff mailed the box and it was Tuesday so I may not get it until Monday. I WILL LET YOU KNOW. Jim

I have no idea why anyone's upset, particularly Geoff. I did not mention Sunday, or give you a deadline, just reminded you that we were shooting for a 48 hour turnaround, and you already know that sometimes it takes longer. No biggie, just let us know.
I did not ask you to post pix on a DAY, just reminded you to post pix.
I asked you was if you received the box, and that you post that you got it, so others knew where it was too. I've had the mailman deliver something and I wasn't even aware of it, because he put it around the side of the house, so it was also a headsup that the box had arrived, in case you had to go pick it up or find where the mailman hid it around your house (this DOES happen to me).
Geoff, there are inevitable delays in every round, it was all no biggie for you either, that's all you had to say. If it was inconvenient, you could have said, "got the box, but I'm out of town, so it's going to be a couple of days extra before I can get pix and send it out." or "I have plans this weekend, so won't get to it til Monday", etc. I just wanted you to let us know that you got it, and an estimate for timing.
As for the tracking #, that's as much for you than us, since once posted, anyone curious can watch the progress and do not have to ask you about it again.
Geoff, I already apologized to you in pm if there was a misunderstanding. In no way did I want to curtail your enjoyment, your time spent, or when you shot the pix. I just wanted you to post that you had the box, so everyone knew where it was. Sometimes when I respond quickly, I can be unclear or overly blunt, thus the apology.
I just want to keep the box updated so people know what's going on with it, and when there's no updates, as organizer, I ask.

The box arrived at 10:39. It is blown out on the bottom which I will show in the photos. I do not believe anything fell out. I do not use large boxes so I have to go to the PO to get two so I can double them up. I have not decided yet whether I am just going to ship it on or go through everything. Call me grumpy or pissy or whatever you want but this looks more like a chore than a candy store. I don't even have enough floor space to put it all. Well, it only took 45 minutes to open, take four photos, resize, upload, and figure out the damn changes to photobucket. Not sure it is going to work but here goes. Jim

WOOHOO, it worked. Headed to the PO to get boxes. I will keep ya'll posted and probably keep bitching because I am old and it is my right. If you do not want to hear it close your eyes. Jim

YAY! "If you do not want to hear it, close your eyes..." LOL! I should use that in my siggy:).
Jim, enjoy the box, take as long or as short as you want, just let us know what's going on, it's SUPPOSED to be fun, and if I sound pushy, well, that's me being thoughtless with my wording.
As sappy as it sounds, the point of this box was 'a box of love', to share what we have and enjoy with others who like the same things. If we love what we see, we can have it, with the idea that we are going to try to make the next person happy with what they see too. Apparently, I've managed to upset some people with my pm followups... I feel bad about that, and hope anyone I've offended can forgive me.
Old and crabby as you claim to be, you are a dear friend, HAVE FUN!! But keep us updated!! And if you're feeling insulted by anything I say, just let er rip in PM's:).

??Let er rip in PMs?? To hell with that, I am going to rip you right here except for I do not have anything to rip you about right now. But I am going to be keeping my eye on you. Everything is rebundled, re wrapped, re labeled, re bound, re boxed, re, re, re. AND everything is back in the box except for what I kept. Here is where I am going to be a little grumpy. There was a lot of stuff that was not labeled or wrapped good enough and the box was a mess. There was broken rock all over in the box including in the agate index cd. And TAPE. Tape sucks when it is used to hold slabs and other stuff from coming apart. I buy a bag of cheap rubber bands and band everything up. I can put them on twice as fast as tape and the next person down the line just has to slip or snip the rubber bands off to see what is inside. Slabs always need to be wrapped with cardboard. There were some nice slabs that were broken from laying loose. It only takes a few more minutes to secure and wrap things so there is no gravel in the bottom of the box. The things that are breakable should be on the top of the pile. I am not bitching at everyone and I have no idea who did what so just take this as my humble opinion. I am going to point out one person (there were others close), Jan (gingerkind) who had her ducks in a row. Her things were labeled good and packaged well. I understand that people do not know the names of a lot of things but a "local from" or "I don't know from" or "the correct name from ". Permanent marker writes on plastic bags and it usually does not come off like a label that has been banged around for 3000 miles. The labels on the rocks inside a bag seemed to work well though. Ok, I am finished bitching so ya'll can quit throwing rocks now. About fifty photos will follow as soon as I get my back straightened out for a while. Jim

Forgot one thing. The sample bottles and boxes would not go back in the box without stomping them first so I kept the four of them also. Jim

I think the last package to Florida took four days but with the luck of this box it will probably take six. lol Have fun Mario. I really enjoyed going through it and picking some nice stuff. Don't worry, I did not take it all.
PLUS, PLUS I apologize for my bitching. My fingers are sealed. Jim
