WOW! The box departed Florida yesterday and made it to my door step in Washington in 1 day!!!! Brooke stayed after school today for Art Club, when she gets home we will open it and photograph together (she is doing it with me this year and picked out her own special slabs to include ;D)

That was fast!!! The PO around here is really odd... sometimes it's like that... 1 day... doesn't matter how far or close. Other times it can take a few days to get something from a few miles away. Awesome:)!

Okey Dokey. Here's the box post. Glad you like photos Helen because this one is going to go on for quite awhile Box: Contents: Stuff for ME!!!!!: From Jim, Sunrise, Nephrite, Montana, Tube, LOVE THEM!!! ;D From Helen (drop dead gorgeous as always!!!): From Mario: Gorgeous Montana!!!!! And your stumped me............ At first I thought this was gem silica but it's too green, so I figured it was chrysoprase but it has a few clear areas and the matrix is opalized like top quality amy sage. This is killer beyond belief but I'm not sure what kind of chalcedony this is? I haven't done enough chrysoprase to know if that is what this is? PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME!!! And btw...... WOW Ok... intermission while my cat Tessa invades every box I unload ;D Intermission over! Brooke going through the things that she wants OK, we got it figured out (this picture isn't the greatest but it's way past my bedtime and I'm not going to retake the photo.... there is some close ups that will suffice for most of what we're taking ) black agate Brazilian Some faceted garnets and lightening ridge opal Some unknowns, got some guesses but no confirmation until I post it again later...... Oh... and this is from Jan and she wrote on the pink slab but it wore mostly off during shipping. The blue sparkly one is Lepidolite but the pink one, although it looks identical but just a different color, appears to have the first letter as F? ? Can you please confirm what that stone is for me Jan? ? (EDIT: Red Adventurine with Mica) Purple unknown rock, fortification windowed specimen, chipped on an edge but is still fantastic!, GA state mineral specimen and a couple of micro display boxes Black Tourmaline and some Amethyst Crystals Earings, a couple of geodes that Brooke is dieing to slice, and a slice of Zam (THANK YOU whoever put that in.... I am completely out.... well.... now I'm not ;D) Here is what I'm adding: Brand new SIC belts for a 6" expando (100, 220, 400, 600) Fluorite (I tumbled it in 220 in the vibe for 1 day to clean it up.... it's good to cab... or if you are very brave you can try tumbling it). Rocky Butte Graveyard ~ Regency Rose Dino Bone and Chrysocolla Very cool tiger iron specimen that broke on a hematite plane Helen..... this is for you! Rare old stock Dryhead!!!! Owyhee Picture Jasper And lastly.... 2 fantastic Coprolite slabs.... I just cant send some dino bone without including some dino poop too ;D ;D ;D

Krystee I have no idea what those 2 slabs are, I was not setup to cab when I got them, only half way there now, and, figured you liked it so much I'd let you have a whack at it first, hence the rules !! Can't wait to see what you do with it, and let me know how it works.. I may try to get more if it's not too difficult to work into cabs! Glad you like the Montana slab, figured you would! The green with the '?' I believe is adventurine, I got it from someone in a trade, and that is one of the slabbettes I got off the piece. That Fluorite is killer looking stuff !! gratz Helen you got a nice score coming to you next!! And you deserve it for the great job you did putting this all together!!

Some unknowns, got some guesses but no confirmation until I post it again later...... Purple unknown rock, fortification windowed specimen, chipped on an edge but is still fantastic!, GA state mineral specimen and a couple of micro display boxes The one on the right is some of the Llanite I collected in February. The purple one is Namibian Lepidolite. Glad someone liked what I added.

Geoff! THANK YOU FOR ID!!!!!
I googled Llanite and all I got was sheets of specs......
I LOVE this piece... the blue flashy speckles remind me of lab or tiger eye family..... but then there is the orange orby stuff. I flipped out when I saw this, oblivious to what it was. How much of this did you collect?
And.... everything I have Namibian has always been spectacular!!!! It looks different than the Lepidolite that Pat put in.

The blue speckles are little quartz octahedrons. I have some I freed with boiling HCl I'll post later.

I got the box!!!!! WOW!!! HOLY COW!!!
First of all... I can see that a lot of you did not take everything you could have, since there were some really neat things from others early on in the swap:). Mario, thanks for cutting stuff up for us!!! Sooo much easier than rocks:). And KRYSTEE!!! I LOVE what you put in... just LOVED all of it:)!
I took pix, but can't post til later tonite... will get them up, but the sheer amount of stuff in the box was staggering! HOW did you all get that much stuff in there?!

Okies! Pix as promised!!! Geez, there was a lot of stuff in there!!! I did NOT put that much stuff in the first box, so holy cow... who did that?! First, Krystee's incredible packing job... you can tell she's a mom, everything was all neat and spaced properly... with literally an entire ball/box worth of rubberbands!!! (or was that Jim? I know Jim LOVES rubberbands too:)). Perfectly packed just opened box: Unpacked box... uhh... holy cow that's a lot of stuff... From there, there was no way to get a single shot... slabs: Middle of pile: Right side of pile: Top of pile: bottom of pile: bottom right of pile: Uhh... what the heck?! Did you guys take NOTHING? Krystee sent some INCREDIBLE slabs! Don't know what this red one is... but WOW!!! Big and Beautiful! The above was for scale... here's MORE slabs she put in (this wasn't all, just the ones I could get to quickly!) and a BIG bag of tumbled Flourite, an incredible dryhead, a gorgeous crysocolla, a beautiful plume, gorgeous picture rocks, and whatever that one on the top left is, it's a FAVORITE:): Closeup of another awesome crazy looking Krystee slab (Krystee has amazing slabs, but that's because she's got great taste!): Pink slab from Jim! (I LOVE Jim's pink slabs!!!): Some interesting and colorful slabettes (these are dry, they are much more colorful wet): Some awesome preforms from Susan (I am a preform junky being sawless:)): Some black Tourmaline specimens (is this cuttable?): Beautiful labeled slabbette plume (Keagan ranch tube agate): From Paul Shiroma, love that piece on bottom left ... is that onyx? Buttery looking:): Got a slabbette from Jan that I think is great! A RED version of polkadot agate!!: Not sure what this slabbette is, but it's KEWL!!: Some finished cabs from Susan too: And that's not all by far, but it's already 20 photos!! Got some faceted garnets from Pat, and specimens/slabs from other participants, and a big hunk of Mariposa from Mario, and just a whole bunch of great goodies that would have made the photos go on for another 20 pix if I tried to even get group pix of them all.... You guys... either ALL of you overstuffed the box and did NOT take out enough, or a few of you did it, but holy cow, I did not expect this much back!!! That was both a surprise and a delight... but being overly analytic... I have to wonder if I was just a bad host and intimidated people about being too shy to take more stuff out... While I too looked forward to goodies, I didn't expect SO MANY of them... I wanted EVERYONE to enjoy the box, but I know I made at least 2 people uncomfortable by poking for pix... because I didn't clarify that I simply wanted pix posted, and implied by omission that they had to be posted NOW. I still feel guilty and bad about that. That said, I think the box has been great fun, and hope it was great fun for EVERYONE ... but I think someone else should host the next one, so they can be more gracious in PM's about poking for pix than I have apparently been. I think the box should continue, because it's a great way to spread rocks around to people who haven't seen all the variety out there, and you will inevitably see goodies you've never seen. But I think someone else may be better suited to keeping up with a box than I am. Any volunteers:)?
